I used to be superhero, but the pay isn’t as good as you’d think – that is why my cars are not at the level initially discussed here. Now I am a go-to-work Dad.
Out of college, I ran a tire/service place (think Firestone or Goodyear) for a large NE chain, for about 5 years. I was pretty good at it, but they fibbed a bit about things and were too tight with the purse strings and I got frustrated. When I got my MBA, I worked for a medmal insurance company that went under, and now major financial firm as a business systems analyst/project manager. I’ve been at that for, gee, 10+ years now. Damn, time flies.
Now I am bored with computers and just do my work. I need a new profession. Anyone got any ideas? :)

Retired from 30 yrs Law Enforcement. Or another way to look at it, I get paid to stay at home and do what ever. That what ever over the last year has been "doing the house". New tile floors in the living, dining and kitchen. Wood floors in two of the bedrooms, of course this involves paint, molding and of course, new couches because the old one did not look right with the new floor and paint.
Now it involves "Wrenching" on a Quiltting machine for my wife. I need to get a job and get away from the house!!!!!!!!!

As for the lug nuts, they are now loaded into a multi gun (6 at a time) and torqued down all at once at the rate of 70 jobs per hour.

Well I just past the 20 yr mark of being out of Lincioln Tech in Indy on the 27th of Feb.
And had been fired from 3 1/2 yrs as a Assistant lead tech at a firestone Mastercare, for breaking a valve cover no less.
BUT I started a new job at David Carmichael Truck and Automotive in Bloomington IN the day afterthe anniversary date above.
He was a little famous as him ,his family and buisness was filmed for Kenneth Copeland Ministries rligious show last year, up till then I had heard some very bad things about this man.
Now I'm a Diagnostic tech for them in autos (I just dont do diesel), I have recertified as an ASE MAster Auto Technician, I am going back for more recerts soon and getting my Master Auto Machinist recert, I have my L1 Advanced Level Cert, ASE Parts Specialist recert, Alternative fuels recert, Undercar Specialist, I have my IMACA cert (A/C) and I am going to get more of the ASE/SEMA certs too.
Trust me going from a backup diag tech to the lead guy kind of sucks at first.
But I get fired from a good job I liked off a month, and get a job with a $9.00 raise on the flat rate hour, 80% of my insurance paid, paid vacation, good people and a shop thats busy all year long, no lag time like Firestone which was great but less money and at times a minimum pay week just plain sucked and barely made ends meet if at all.
I also do performance work on side, build race/performance engines, build/repair computers, getting into prototyping a Flex Fuel kit that will be able to retrofit most any car, also a less complex DIS for V8s and hopefully branching out to lesser engines (yup how about a DIS on a 2 cyl Briggs!).
and a complete believer in Air Ride Technologies as I live 30 mile from ART head quarters and drive my ART suspended truck every day nearly!
