Okay, so I get my new rearend today and can't wait to get things mocked up to make sure everything fits and the wheels end up where I need them and the very first thing I try doesn't work. The axle bearing won't go throught the Baer Caliper Bracket hole. So while I'm waiting for Moser and Baer to open does anybody know if there is a different bracket that I can use? The brakes are Baer Tracks, the bracket is for a standard chevy rearend, but Moser told me that it would work with their big bearing ends.

Since Moser claimed it would work, it's on them.

Consider cutting it--as shown in this article.

Yep, cut the bracket or have the bearings pressed off then slide the brackets on then reinstall bearings...

Thanks for the replies. I thought the idea about cutting a notch in the bracket sounded good. So once I got ahold of Baer I asked them about it and he said not to do that on a Chevy 12 bolt rearend (Only on a Ford 9" would that work). I am not sure why. He said that the caliper plate for a chevy 12 bolt is not designed to retain the bearing only to hold the caliper, that I would need to use the Moser bearing retainer plate in addition to the caliper plate. He said the caliper plate is even recessed speifically so the Moser bearing retainer will fit inside it. So I think I will try Gordz32 idea about trimming it. But, since Moser didn't send me any bearing retainers I have to get them to send me a pair to complete this. Thanks for the help.

Not to steal your post, but what axle ends did you specify? If they are 7900 ends the bracket may have to be altered. Another option would have been to have the bearing flush mounted. Check your brake kit and see if it specifies a 2.81 offset. If it does you may have to modify the bracket. I am considering the same thing, using a moser rear, but I want to use C5 corvette brakes. This normally wouldn't be an issue, but I want to use the 7900 ends to allow for no c-clips. I was considering using a KORE-3 kit with their PB set-up. After doing some research I found from another post, from a member on the Gp website, that Moser will flush mount the bearing if you want it that way.

I used the Moser end, which is a has a chevy 10/12 rearend bolt pattern, but the bearing is flush mounted. There are no C-clips, but there is an external bearing retainer bracket that bolts to the housing end. Axles were extremely easy to install. The bearing retainer is hidden by the caliper mounting bracket. After speaking with Baer a while, he thinks Moser used a 3-150 large bearing, so the caliper bracket needs a bigger hole milled in it. I am not sure about the offset but I know everythin mocked up good once I milled the hole larger for the caliper bracket.

I received bearing retainers with the Moser 12 bolt that we just received. They were wire tied to one of the housing ends. I'll let you know how our install goes. Wilwood brakes will be here on Tuesday.

Just tried putting my Touring Classic brakes on my new Moser 12 bolt (no clip, 33 spline)
and same problem. The caliper mounting plate will not fit over
the bearing. If the hole was made bigger to slip over the bearing there
would only be an 1/8" of metal left between the large center hole and the 4 bolt holes that bolt to the housing. The machine shop by me said they would ruin the new bearings taking them off. I'm going to notch
it to install and not make the center hole bigger . Moral of the story put the brackets on before
the bearings are pressed on.
