I'm reading the May 2007 issue of Hot Rod and I'm noticing how many people and companies are taking old musclecars and refinishing them with modern touches. What I'm wondering is what these cars will be worth in 20-30 years. Like the Foose Edition Camaros/Challengers, Mr.Norm/Blue Moon Motorsports Dodge Dart GSS, Unique Performance Mustang or the second coming of the Motion Camaros. The average car guy/gal couldn't even afford one without a six/seven figure income. I know all of the labor and cost of the parts adds up but will these actually be worth what "Original Musclecars" are worth now. What will retain their value since all of the parts installed are aftermarket and had nothing to do with an actual original car. I'm all for restoring/updating musclecars but that won't make my 78 Malibu worth much just because I call it a 1 of 1 SS with an LS7/6 speed and throw some Baer Brakes on it with a nice paint job and interior.

IMHO..
The well built tastefully executed cars should do a fair job of at least holding their value. These cars will always be desirable because of the quality of craftsmenship involved and the functionality of the mods.
Obviously the builders "Name" and reputation also plays an important role in value as well.
The great cars are built to be a pleasure to drive:bananna2:

Having a car that is nice to drive, stops well and handles great will never go out of style.
What goes out of style is "in" paint jobs, wheel styles and interior styles.

20 years ago, Pro Street was becoming popular....

Remember all of the pink and turqoise cars?
The money it took to build the car above, probably far exceeded what a nice restoration such as this car was treated to..

Which car would you be seen driving?

Don't let Steve Rupp see that Yellow Pro Street car or he will embark on another transformation project:pat:
