Hey everyone. Newbie camaro fan. I'm studying the market before I buy the 68-69 camaro I want and PT it. Trying to figure out just how much $ I will be in it.
I'm just curious on this auction what all your opinions are on this car re: the car itself and the price. No Im not looking to buy this one, just curious if you eveb build a car similar to this for 50k?
Thanks!

I don't think you could reproduce a car like that for under $50k. That's even if you did most of the work your self.

No way you can reproduce something like that for $50K. These cars are damned expensive!

I was a lil' deceptive. But I needed your honest opinions. So would I be stupid if financially possible to not get this @50k? Ive been obsessed with studying these for 2 months. Originally I have been looking for a 18-24k camaro to PT myself. But then I came across this one may be able to grab it for a good price. I just really want a 69. Its alot o cash. Cars, you think 20k, overnite it turns into 30-40-50.

It would easily cost $50K to reproduce that car. It probably would have sold by now had the builder gone with a conventional grille and didn't get carried away with the stripes on it. The hardware looks nice though.

you could close for 50 grand without all of the bells and wistles like the c4 stuff....the problem is rust bucket cars are going for so much that 50K for that project is not reasonable.

It's a toss up. A lot of work went into it, and there's a ton of super-nice stuff on that car, but then for $57.5k, there ought to be.
What's your goal for your ride?
Is 385hp enough go? Is that finish how you want it? Are those wheels big enough? Because for $57.5k, you're probably not going to want to invest much more into it.
If that's everything you want, then go for it. If you're going to need another 120hp and 18 inch rims and you'd really rather have it in black, then it's probably not your best option.
Man, those Corvette valve covers just bug the h-ll out of me for some reason. That's cool to do on a '32 Ford, but on a Camaro it just doesn't work.

If you can do it buy that thing up. Grills can be changed I like the one thats on it though.

You know, after looking at the pics again, it really looks to be a nice car. The parts are high dollar and the craftsmanship seems to be there.
I would say if you where able to get the car for $50k you would be well ahead of the game, actually leaps and bounds ahead.
lose the stripes
lose the grill
and that car would look bada$$
when you get more deniro's you can play with the motor and get new wheels.
But hey it's not my money so I don't mind spending yours.

If it's what you want, buy it. If not, buy or build something else.

Agreed. A little bit of corrective surgery in the form of factoy-spec stripes, a factory grille, factory tail lights and chrome bumpers and I would love that car. The way it is right now really doesn't sit well with me personally, but the car looks like it has many, many hours and high dollar parts in it.
If you went to a shop and said I want all of these things in a car and I will be back in 6 months to pick it up, that car would be closer to $100K. Doing it yourself is a different story, but STILL expensive.
Another poster questioned if 385 HP was enough, but with an LS1, that is not terribly expensive in the grand scheme of things to up significantly.

Oh, and I almost forgot, the photography is bad and not helping the car sell. All of the angles of the car, and slant of the surface it is being shot on, make it looks like it sits funny....but I don't think it does. It's an optical illusion.:Alchy:
