I have come to the realization that I have never really introduced myself or my project. So, as you can tell from the title of this thread I own a 1970 Chevelle:woot: and I am currently in the tear-down stages of my project. Unfortunately, I didn't take any real good exterior shots of the car outside before I started tearing it apart. I'm kicking myself for that now, but trying to make up for it somewhat by taking pictures throughout my different days working on it.
Hopefully during spring break, or at the beginning of this summer I will be able to pull the body off the frame and put it up on a rotisserie and start doing some body work on it. thankfully it really isn't TOO bad. some minor surface rust on the floor pans (inside), a tiny hole that i'll have to fix, and a quarter panel that is definitely gonna need some work. but like i said, not bad, considering i bought the car sight-unseen on eBay :twothumbs:

I have way too many plans for this thing and not a lot of money, so unless I win the lottery or something this project may take me a lifetime.

So here are some pictures. (I finished pulling the wiring harness, steering column, and A/C unit out today, but don't have pictures of that yet)

(excuse the mess in most of the pictures - it's really not that bad anymore)

As for me, I'm an auto body student right now, and I will be graduating in June. Then I'm going to take an Automotive Management program that is a combination of auto mechanics and business.

So, if ya wanna know anything else, just ask. When it finally comes time, i'm gonna be asking questions like there's no tomorrow so consider this fair warning:cheers:

Sweet, Another A-body! Looks like a fairly decent car to start with. What school are you going to?

Welcome aboard
That looks like a nice solid car, very good starting point. What are your plans for the car?

What are your plans for the car?

too many:seizure: or at least they cost too much...

but if i could have my way, i'll be dropping in either a 454 or a ram jet 502, T56, air ride tech. air bags all around, ZE Forged Tach wheels - at least 18's i'm thinkin, black paint (am i a little :screwy: ??? - cuz i'm gonna be painting it myself) and that's not even all, but i think you can see my point about it costing an arm and a leg - but looking at cars like yours Venomous and all the other beautiful cars in here give me inspiration to be able to get this done.

it'll be a long time in the making, but it will be well worth it.

(Quote)it'll be a long time in the making, but it will be well worth it.

Get a plan on paper, stick with that plan. The biggest thing is to take one thing at a time, get it done then move on to the next.
It works, then you dont get overwhelmed. a project of this size can start looking like your never get done
Good luck, if we can help just ask!

i know i'll be doing that a lot, but thankfully i should be able to do most of the work myself. after going to auto body school, and then taking the mechanics part i think i should be pretty well covered. and if i'm not, i've got at least 4 good friends who know what they're doing when it comes to cars.

after i get the Vette painted - and sold - all of that is going towards the chevelle, so hopefully i'll be able to take a SMALL chunk out of my parts list with that money. i'm thinking of cleaning up the frame, and then working on brakes/suspension stuff first. so that check will probably go towards my air ride, along with the street-comp afx package from SC&C...

and yeah... i'll be chiming in with some more questions as soon as i can get the body off the frame, which will hopefully be during spring break.
