I'm looking to run hard stainless line along my frame for my supply/return lines for my fuel system. Stainless can be a real hassle to flare. I found these fittings by Russell for their aluminum line. They crimp on sortof like a compression fitting. I asked them if they can be used on stainless. They said on low pressure lines yes. Anyone ever use them ???

I used them on a 1/2" fuel line with Aluminum tubing, worked fine. I don't think they would work on stainless - it is too hard to 'give' enough to seal. Think of a compression fitting on copper plumbing, like an icemaker - the ferrule actually causes the end of the tube to distort to make the seal. I think stainless is even harder than mild steel, which is why I always fight to make stainless hard brake lines seal even though mild steel ones are leak free. I'm no expert, just my guess.

Swagelok (http://www.swagelok.com/search/find_products_home.aspx?RESET=TRUE) fittings are about the best thing for stainless there is... with no need to flare... and pressure handling capabilities that no other can come close to.
