Here is a picture of what the Torino should look like once I finish the RRS install.

15937

When I'm done I'll post some comments on how the kit fit and problems I had with installing it. I'll confirm or deny the just bolt in claims. I'll accompany that with some comments on the actual drivability. I'll probably also get yelled at for posting off topic.

General car specs. 390, ported C8AE-A heads with CJ sized valves, Camresearch solid lifter 230/236 cam with .560 lift and matching springs and lifters, Pumpbuilder end and center stands with stock style adjustable rockers, PI intake, Faron recurve with pertronix, CJ holley, canton T roadrace pan and pumpbuilder HV pump and billet shaft.

Toploader close ratio 4 speed. I have a lakewood scattershield that goes in next at that time may swap a TKO 600 in with I'm thinking an Aluminum flywheel.

RRS stage 2 front strut kit, Global Wests lower control arms, TCP strut rods, billet tie rod adjusters and stock power steering. RRS rear disc brake kit, rebuilt and rearched stock springs, Koni shocks, 3.70 Detroit locker 31 spline, Caltracks low profile bars.

245/45/17 front and 285/40/17 rear tires on 17x8 with 4.5BS and 17x9.5 5.5bs custom wheels.

Welcome, and nice project! Great looking cars... I'm still sad I missed buying a running Taladega for $1500. But then again, $1500 was a lot of cash for a 14 year old in '86.

Keep us posted on the progress. I'll be watching

Those Talledegas are a piece of history. Unfortunately they were all C6 cars and too rare to mess with. A 69 cyclone spoiler built as a NASCAR replica would be a sweet pro touring concept but good luck finding one of those also. Hey Petty won Riverside in a regular 69 Torino shell and I actually like the regular Torino better.

welcome -- I've been following your build on fordfe.com. There are a couple of other
Torinos here, but lots of people here don't like all that torque ;-)

Adjusted the ride height with the front coil overs and adjusted the preload on the Caltracks out back. Put some photos in the PT Garage if you are a Torino fan.

its hard to tell (lots of shadows in the pics), but will the front come down another inch or 2?
(I assume the engine is in and fully dressed)

I could drop the front another 1.5" if I wanted. When I first put it down I had the coilovers backed off all the way. I incrimentaly raised the front 1.5" to where it is in this picture. It's a very slight rake almost level. That's how I want it ot sit but it could sit lower. Yes the engine is in and running in this picture.

I'm just to lazy to maintain two build threads.
