I'm curious. Is there any kind of an expiration on titles? I am looking at a car that has a title that was notorized and signed by PO in 1990, but was never signed over to anyone in particular. The notary's commission expired in 1993. I am trying not to get screwed again, so if anyone could answer that I would greatly appreciate it.

Car title is from Colorado and will be titled in Ohio.

Thanks!
Josh

I will give them a shout tomorrow morning. I was hoping to find out tonight so I can cancel the deal. I am just glad I got a copy of the title this time :)

Ohio laws may be different than other states, but I went to the BMV this morning and they verified that everything would be fine since it's the same as me holding on to it for 16 years. They said that I would have to pay a fine ($5.00) LOL

man darrin was not kidding about illinios, i played this game for a while, i was waiting for a state trooper to show up on my door. the dash panel on a duster is also where they vin tag is attached. i wanted to save the mint dash out of my parts car for someone else later or if i ever restored a car. what a bad deal. and since my car is a conglomeration of 2 dusters. i wanted the dash from one (remember the vin tag) but the body of the other. i would in essence have 2 vins on one car. i cant remove the tag and reinstall the tag that matches the body, but also cant have non matching tags and body numbers. basically i have to destroy the value of the car by having a state police provided id number on it. you know what that means if i had to sell? everybody thinks you are pulling something over on them. they do not have a sense of humor or a sense of understanding. it is a wonder i didnt go to jail for talking about it. watch your p's and q's.
