Hey Ive been running with out inner fenders for a while And dont like how the front was shakey even jouncing it by hand.
Today at Summit on the clearance rack there was a set of fender supports for 67-69 camaros real cheap. (messed up chrome)
I grabbed them on a whim that maybe I could use em on my 72.
I only had to drill holes in the fenders the core support was already drilled in the correct spot. The angles on the Camaro supports are correct to.
Bolted them in and now it is solid. I may have em powder coated because Im not a big chrome guy but they dont look half bad.

I think have an extra set if someone can use them.

Those little fender to core support braces really make a big deal. The inner fender wells also add a ton of rigidity to the car. Without the inner fenderwell's you should add some braces like I put on my Camaro...like the ones in my book on page 69. ...that is if you have my Pro-Touring GM book. Those braces would benefit F and X-body cars and even the full-framers.
Looking good. A real driver. :jump:

When you bolt the brace to the top of the cowl it's a good idea to build a backing plate on the backside of the panel in the wiper area since that's not the strongest part of the car. The strongest area of the car is the attachment points of the fender/firewall. Unfortunately it's tough to attach there because of the brake booster. Whatever you do, don't weld the brace to the car if you are going to put it that close to the engine. You could lose serviceability of your engine, but I'm sure you already thought of that. :)

Yea brotha thats why Im plotting it out before bending anything.
I will be able to snake around to mount to the fended mount area also. Just will be tight.
There will be enough room to do just about anything to the motor sanz removal. But thats why they will be bolt in.
By the way Tony I have your book. You autographed it I think its #33
