I refuse to totally "stash" the car away for the Winter.
(I live in Northern Indiana).
But you never know when the weather might break and the roads will be dry. Well I got lucky yesterday and i was able to go stretch the legs on the Stang..
Its funny how quickly you forget how much you enjoy/miss the WHOLE experience of driving these cars.
This is the first time that I have driven the car when it is below 40*.
I expected the car to run strong in the cool air..I was right
I also expected the tires to have zero traction at these temps..
Right again :6gears:
I am really looking forward to Spring time..

lol i know what you mean
I am that way with my bike. It's finally starting to warm up enough that I can handle my commute. It felt so weird to be back on the thing only after 4 or 5 weeks of not being able to ride.

I don't know if I could have the right amount of self control if I lived anywhere that gets a real winter.
That is why I love southern California. I'm planning to put some serious miles on my Camaro this summer. In the mean time I hit the 1,000 mile break in mark a week ago and I've been driving it as much as I can.
I'm now concerned about the life of my clutch in this T56 combo. I just don't see it lasting the way it feels when I accelerate 100%..
Took a friend for a ride yesterday and he tells me "I don't think I've ever ridden in a car that burns out in third gear." LoL, sorry for the highjack, just excited to be out driving too!

It must feel good to take it out once in a while. Like it's a real treat. :yeah:
It gets kind of boring for me out here in California. I have to drive my 68 Camaro every day. :wedgie:

I love when the motor is stronger and the tires are weaker..
I would always take my gsxr out on a warm winter day,it would slide around like a dirt bike.

I had my 4th gen out the other day, it was good to get all my senses in on the act with some throttle steering. :)

Man I know what you mean. I usually get mine out a few times in the winter here also. I live in the Kansas City area so I know what you mean by the weather breaking sometimes. This winter has been really crappy for me at least. I have not driven mine since Nov. I plan to get it out next month though and install my new Cam and Hydratech Hydroboost...can't wait.
By the way very nice car you have there. I have seen it over on Lateral G.

Funny, got mine working and out for a quick run yesterday too. Sitting too long and the tires needed to be broken in (no problem!). Just wish I could get my damn oil pressure gauge to stop leaking on my leg!!
It was my first time out in about 1.5 years. It was scary how much I needed to adjust to the power and lack of traction control (my truck spoils me). Boy was it fun!!!
Glad to hear you had a good time out with yours.

I adhere to zupersport's "ten second rule", the car should always be gassed up and clean, ready to deploy.

"10 Second Alert"
- hot rod should be 100% tuned and road ready (no loose ends, 100% confidence in performance & reliability)
- hot rod should have full tank of gas (CAM2 preferred)
- hot rod should be backed into garage without anything blocking door (optional 180 degree rotating floor)
- hot rod should be 100% clean & detailed (looking its "best")
- hot rod should have preferred music set ready to go in CD changer/MP3 player ("Red-Rocker" "Can't Drive 55" is a good intro song or "George's" "Bad to the Bone" on slow exit from garage ala "Better Off Dead")
- if possible "Batman" style "Bat-Pole" should be installed from bedroom straight to garage (optional theme park style slide if not straight run)
- repeat phrase "It's 106 miles to Chicago, we've got a full tank of gas, half a packet of cigarettes, it's dark, and we're wearing sunglasses." --- "Hit it."
Additional input is encouraged ---

ROFL. I don't know what is funnier. The post or the fact that I relate to so much of those.
