As some of you might have seen Im going to attempt a g-brace for my Nova
I come to realize I can not weld 4130 chromemoly with my MIg. So I guess Im looking at DOM or some other sort of Mild steel.
BonzoHansen measured his second gen g-braces for me and his are 1" OD
Wall thickness is what Im stuck on now. Will .065 be strong enough with only a 29" span and that span will also be supported with another bar triangulated about 1/2 way down the section. Or would .120 be a better choice.
Weight is an issue and over kill is not going to help or hurt in this area.
Also what will bend the best. I will need to make 2 tight bends and dont want collapsing or kinking. 3" radi bend (about)
