After stripping out alot of the interior, heater core, inner fenders, front bumper, etc... my 67 bbc camaro is still weighing in at 3415 lbs.
Although considering a few engine mods to pick up another 20-30 hp when frshening up this summer, I would really like to get some more weight out of the car, and I'm wondering if there is a front end kit that will let me reuse my existing tubular aarms, coil overs, wilwood brakes, subframe connectors, etc..., that will get at least 100 lbs off the front end and allow me to use all my existing parts, including the 10.5 inch wide tires up front? Thx!

I'd start looking at fiberglass if I were you...

....... or an all aluminum LS engine. That rat weighs a lot more, and it's all in the front end. I'm guessing another engine isn't in the budget.

Bud get????????????/ We don't need no stinkin bud get.

Unfortunately, yes as much as I'd like to build an 800 hp n/a lsx engine, this is the ticket for now.

I've already got a fg hood, and I've gone to the expense of custom fender flares front and back to accomodate the wide tires for road racing. I just could'nt come to grips with the tijuana look.

I guess I could try a 50 shot at the road course to go with the 700 ponies of the bbc to run down that stripped down viper?

I'm in the process of redoing my front end. I just bought the kit from ATS, which included GW UCA, LCA, tall ATS spindle, and coil over springs, and the pro-touring C-5 brakes, and if I saved 2 lbs, I'd be surprised. I weighed everything coming off, and going on and they're almost the exact same weight. I think you might want to look at aluminum heads, as many fiberglass parts as possible.

As said before, you could go fiber glass, but then you have to answer the question, IS this gonna be a race car or a street car that see's the ocasional track day. This company http://up22.com/camaro67.htm
Makes fiberglass every thing, including doors with inner structures. Check em out. But as with just about all fiberglass products, expect to do some body work if you wanna have nice gaps and straight panels. Goodluck!

Also, move you battery to the pass side trunk area, if you haven't already.

I've heard bad things about the fit/quality of their stuff. but have heard goodthings about vfn(http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/site.htm).

note: I do not have any experience with either, just relaying what I have heard.

I've been told that the most saved by a custom subframe with rack and pinion is aprox 62 lbs.

A bare Nova subframe weighs 110 lbs.

UPN fiberglass is awful. Go with Glasstek or VFN.
