Please can someone make the rear end/bumper look good with this picture. I have a white one exactly like this, same tires, wheels, stance, but white. This is not me and I am sorry for hijacking the picture, but it's the best pic I could find. But please can someone do something with the bumper other than move it in tight. Thanks.

To put it bluntly, the rear bumper looks like a log. It doesn't really go with the car. I thought maybe a roll pan with exhaust cut outs, I thought of narrowing and shortening the bumper, but I'm not a "designer." Besides, I used ms paint to try to render, need I say more? LOL!

I spent a decent amount of time thinking of different options you have concerning the bumpers. I ulitmatly got rid of the rear bumper and pulled the front bumper about three inches into the car. The other option would be to paint the bumpers and pull both of them into the car tighter. Ultimately shortening the look of the car and making it more aggressive.
Or you can just paint the front bumper the cars color and leave the back bumper off
Or try to find a bumper from another car that looks better. But this route would take alot of measurement and imagination. To Create something in your head that will look good then trying it to see how it looks. Depends on how much you want the look.

Im really digging the design, and it looks good considering the program u are using. I am in college and have some major assignments to do this week. But if i have some spare time i will try and help your pic out a lil.
IMO, I would go with a lil bigger exhaust tips in the rear and have half of their diameter in the bumper. But thats just me, lol.

The exhaust tip bumper cutout idea came from the 4 4 2, as the cutlass didn't have that option. This bumper/rear end thing is just something I thought I might ask the board considering that it's bugged me ever since I got the car. Definately get the school thing finshed as this "issue" of mine doesn't have a due date and I am not grading you on it.
Oh yeah, and I had planned on putting a couple APC fart cannons out the back, instead of those 2" ers :hah:

I would not completely remove the rear bumper. It would be like some hot chick with no a$$. I would not only tuck it in as much as reasonably possible but also shorten the length of the wrap arounds on the bumper...maybe as little as what is necessary to hide the gap between the bumper and the car. And then do the same to the front bumper.
Or you could do it like Troys Chicane and suck the bumper into the body.

After seeing pics of my 74 ventura next to my wife's 72 cutlass, I've come to the conclusion that the rear bumper on my car isn't the right scale. It looks like it belongs on a bigger car. So, thinking back a few years, I met a guy in harrisonburg, va a long time ago with a dark red 74 gto. He had the rear bumper on his car shortened and the depth reduced to the tune of $1200 or so dollars. But I think he hit the nail on the head with basically just scaling down the bumper.
Thanks guys, I think I know what I have to do....spend money!
