ive been doing alot of reading and asking alot of questions about my spring rates i need and im getting no where really. people are telling me to go with a 250-275 pound rear leaf but I have no idea where to get soemting like that. also they are saying to get a 650-700 pound front coil spring. again, where do I get this? i need to order up my spring this week but have no idea what to get. if i just did DSE 600 pound fronts and 175 pound rears would i be ok? its mostly a street car, maybe oad race once or twice a year. but id really like to handle as best i can with out any coil overs.

pretty much, i need a number of someone that knows exactly what to do to a first gen camaro. i have lots of questions.

thanks
Jesse

Don't make things seem more difficult than they really are. Most of the spring rates talked about here are for specific preferences to whomever uses them. The rates that are commonly sold through most of the aftermarket suppliers aren't too harsh and are very liveable on the street. If you get the front and rears from DSE, Global West, or Hotchkis, you're getting a matched set that works very well with eachother. The question is, how low do you want to go, and how much do you want to spend?

I would call up Hotchkis and ask for their recomendation.
Then call Global West, then call Detroit Speed.

Make a list of questions and have a note pad handy while on the phone.

What is best for the novice is to buy a complete kit from one MFR, springs, bars, and shocks.

Figure out what how agressive you will drive the car, what your ride comfort level is, what width tires you will have before calling them.

When done with that, come back here and ask any questions you may have.
Good luck, David
