View Full Version : Actually made some progress. 406 together

Being layed off afforded me a bit of time so I got the 406 together.
When It warms up Im going to paint the heads oil pan and block- black leave intake black. Paint Valve covers orange and leave timing cover orange. And for anyone Keeping the LowBuckX tally That is $2800 Worth of lowbuck motor. Did I say it is full roller!
Its nice to have a bit of progress with a crap situation going on.

NOTE The floor was clean when I assembled it but to take the pics I moved it and hit the foam insulation and busted it up. oops

Wow that thing looks nice! How much further do you have to complete it?

Paint and swap Valve covers and accesories with my 355. Then drop it in.

I also have to figure out how to fill in stamed numbers on the front pad.
The guy that I got it off of had it in a sleeper 83 Malibu 4 door and stamped 305 HO +.030 on it and it looks dumb.
I totally beefed it up from where he had it

Nice. Im painting my 400 all black minus the heads, so that photo gives me a good idea of how its going to look. Im interrested in your valvetrain parts list can you send me a PM on the breakdown.
