I would recommend that you check local industrial or equivalent blasters that soda blast. I have found this to be by far the cheapest and easiest to work with after the fact. As long as you have minimal surface rust (these spots will have to be glass beaded), this is the way to go for the price (depending on your area pricing of course). It leaves an un-blemished surface for prepping and painting. You do have to wipe the car down after this is done, before any paint is applied. This is because the capabilities of the baking soda to react and grow, causing paint issues. You can wipe the car down with a water/vinegar mix or some people use a mild soap/water mix. After this is done, dry it, DA it with a 100 grit, prep it, shoot is with a good epoxy primer. My .02 cents worth!

I found my place to go its eagleautostripping in Kansas City. They will media blast it first them glass bead it.Is it a good idea to cut a big hole in the rear quarter panels so that it can also reach the back side of the body,ie window regulator area, inner wheel well area etc...The quarter panels are being replaced anyways.

I would be concerned with the exposed areas, you should be able to get to much of the spots that are needed without doing damage to the body parts. However, if you are going to be replacing them anyway, you could do anything you wanted. If you would have said Kansas City, I would have given you Eagle or there is a place on 40 Hwy in Blue Springs, don't have the card in front of me, but they have done some work for me in the past, actually I have used Eagle to blast a bare frame. This other place in Blue Springs will also powdercoat. I will try to find the name/number.

There are at least 2 places (I think more) around Austin that do this. Do a Google search of "media blasting austin" and go from there.
I spoke to Rodney at Austin Collision and Custom Bodywork, the person who does SW's (Streetking on here) cars, and he told me about them. Sorry I don't have the names though...
You should be able to find options around the central Texas area.
