Here's where we want you to post the shops you recommend or don’t recommend in your region. Please post info about where the shop is, who to contact there, and why you would or wouldn’t recommend it.

Think of all the vendors you’ve come to know in your area, Body shops, painters, interior shops, fabrication shops, powder coaters, chrome shops, junk yards that specialize in our type cars etc.

Thanks!

I'll go first,

Convenient from: southwest PA,southeast OH & WV panhandles.

I have been dealing with a place south of Pittsburgh called:

McB Autosport
Mark Connolly
548 Baldwin Street
Bridgeville, PA 15017
(412)221-1922

These guys specialize in anything high end or vintage. They are also heavily involved in the local SCCA chapter. They do anything from restoration work, racecar prep, exotics etc. Last time in, there was a low mile Viper GTS with a blown engine, Mitsi 3000GT-TT getting Turbo upgrades, 911 Turbo, several BMW 3 series open track cars and bunches of vintage imports MGs, Triumphs, etc.

I first used them 3 years ago to have my subframe connectors installed and now go to them for anything I cant do myself. They are always upfront about how long they will have the car, give fair estimates and will contact if something seems amiss.

If anyone of you guys are looking for a Interior shop in NJ, make sure you check out everlast auto interior in Linden NJ.
I just had them do a custom leather interior in my 69 camaro and couldn't be happier with the job. Great shop to work with, and the workmanship is awsome.
Make sure you see Eric. He'll hook you up.

Rhodes Custom Auto in Delaware. Ron and his father Larry build top notch cars all the way. Larry handles the street rod end of the business and Ron takes care of the muscle car side of it. Ron is one very talented person. You can't go wrong. Anything from fabrication to paint and body work and I cannot forget tuning. Ron is one Hell of a tuner. Ron's personal car, a 68 camaro in street trim, runs a small block naturally aspirated that runs in the high 8's. http://www.rhodescustomauto.com/

Hey Guys,

Just got my car back from Jakes Rod Shop... One word? AWESOME!!! He came and picked it up, dropped it off and did an unbelievable job on it. Send it in for a new trunk and to go over and dial in the suspension as well as some other odds and ends. He did over and above what I asked him to do. Set up the car and went over it with a fine toothed comb. MONEY WELL SPENT! TOP NOTCH body work and added a bunch of little details like machined control arm spacers as well as alot of other things to really bring the car together. If you are not happy with your current setup, dont have the time to finish it or were like me and put in a bunch of suspension goodies without the time or know how to dial it all in, GO TO JAKES ROD SHOP!! You will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Thank you Jake for everything.

bump?
any other suggestions
Id recommend Hotrod motorsports in coraopolis as they converted my intake to EFI and powerdercoated it for free, plus they have allot of nice high-end car builds....but I'm wanting a quote on an engine rebuild and they seem too busy to return voicemail, or receptionist says they'll call but never do...so guess they dont really need the lil guys $$$ ..but probably just swamped, I'll still keep trying

Just for the record, here's a few New England shops that in my book are outstanding:

Total Induction Tuning Solutions (https://totalinduction.com) in South Windsor, CT is owned by Paul Albino. Beautiful shop with a dedicated in-ground Dyno-Jet Chassis Dyno room. Paul is a low-key salt-of-the-earth guy as honest as the day is long. He strives to do things right and backs it up with his own "shop truck" which is a 2nd Gen SVT TT Lightning that currently runs in the high 7's in the quarter mile. Paul and his sidekick Keith are well known for their turbo-building skills and fabrication work.

Chris Cerce Customs (https://www.chriscercecustoms.com/#home) in Taunton, MA is owned by Chris Cerce. Chris's welding, painting, and building skills are truly amazing, and he has tons of happy customers throughout New England. Whether you want a full rotisserie restoration or some one-off wild modification to your ride, you won't be disappointed with the caliber of work this shop produces. Chris has won awards for his custom painting skills, but this shop does it all.

Bodyworks Unlimited (http://bodyworks-unlimited.com) in East Longmeadow, MA is owned by Tony Bordoni. Tony's shop is one of the better body and paint shops in Western Mass. This is what happens when a die-hard car & bike enthusiast runs a body shop that not only does regular paint and collision work, but also caters to the gear heads and true enthusiasts in the area. Tony is one of us, a true lover of all things automotive, fast and furious. He does restoration work as well as true custom show-caliber painting.

And yes... over the years I've had each of these great shops/owners working on vehicles I've owned.-Mike
