So I want to maintain that old muscle car look, but also have a modern theme. As far as seats go, I have Arizen racing seats now. I will either get them re-upholstered or go with trans am seats, with the headrest removed for the more bucket seat look. My major issue is door panels. Either I go with custom door panels or I get some deluxe 68 camaro door panels recovered with some rivets added in just like the foose designed camaro. Next is the console...either a custom setup, or a standard 68 camaro console with the autometer gauge pod.

What do you think? Also, what exactly are the deluxe door panels like? Can they covered with material? Are there any modifications needed to install on standard interior?

The deluxe panels would be rather difficult to recover. If I remember correctly, all you have to do to install the deluxe panels, is to buy and install the deluxe inner door handles and mechanisms.

i would go with a modern material look and feel with cleaner stitching. it would be alittle hard to make the seats look original like the door panels. so the only way would be to go modern muscle. but that is just my 2cents in the end it is your rig

I'm going with retro-themed new panels, styled to blend with my Sparco seats and exterior finishes.

I tried to use the factory panels, and it didn't work with the new seats, and body color.

Apologies for bumping an old thread, but I was looking for any advice if anyone has ever re-covered a deluxe door panel? Could you do this with material or some sort of coating?

My car is already set up for the deluxe interior, but is just missing the panels.

Thoughts appreciated.
