After finishing the undercarriage on my own, with very good results, I am finally sending the car out to paint. It's going to the shop of a member here, Rick(BadRS69) http://www.nosrestoration.com/ .

My car sports the original paint, purchased from the original owner, virtually rust-free, all original sheet metal. It has has 63,000 miles on it. I probably could have shown the car as a survivor, BUT that is not why I bought it. It was purchased as a good foundation for a Pro-Touring build. And so the story continues..................

Here are some pics of the car leaving, for you Cali guys, in case you were wondering, all that white stuff on the ground......it's SNOW.

Please tell me your going to keep it black :twothumbs Someone must have taken very good care of that car because the paint still looks from the pics. Can wait to follow along on your updates, I really like the 2nd gens too. What are you using for drivetrain? I'll be following along :) .

Loooooooooooking very good. I think the color is a green of some sort. The painter and your pocket book will love you for having a straight body. What color are you going? Any more details on the car?

Well, here it is, in a nutshell (sort of), Gilbert Chevrolet slightly massaged ZZ4 (395hp/415ft.lb.) Tremec TKO-600 5 speed, Moser 3:73 posi(powdercoated black), Wilwood discs front/rear, Hotchkis TVS suspension w/ Bilsteins, Global West UCA's & LCA's, lots of shiney stuff under the hood, all new interior(stock), every nut, bolt and washer is replaced, along with all steering componants. Subframe and inner fenders powdercoated black.

Wheels/Tires to be determined.....................kind of limited, not being mini-tubbed.

oh, and the color....it is presently sporting it's original paint(Midnight Green)........but alas, that will change to.......YELLOW.

A member here Rick (badrs69), his shop http://www.nosrestoration.com/index.html will be doing the paint/body work.

Many more pics to follow

From the pictures, that paint looks mint. Kind of a shame to have it painted.

Thanks Scott for the kind words. Now as for the car it is even nicer in person than in the pictures. This car is truly a restomode, lots of stock with lots new go fast look good parts. The body is realy strait with only one very small rust spot. :woot: This just helps make the end results that much nicer.

Wow, I wish my paint looked as nice now as your "before" pics! You picked a great car to start with--it should look awesome when it is done. Yellow is cool, don't let anybody tell you different. I am interested to see how it performs as well since we are sporting a lot of the same parts! :twothumbs
