I have a "Z" box from an '88 GTA that I am putting on a '68 Camaro, can anybody help me with pitman arm location? I see that I will have to pull it off and line it up differently on the splined shaft to work with the 1st gen steering setup.

they're indexed aren't they? I think they can on only one way

There were just a bunch of threads on this at Team Camaro (http://www.camaros.net/forums/). Maybe search there.

They are indexed. I just put a WS6 box on my 77Z28.

That's how I remembered it when I used this box.

IMO, the box is quick ratio, but the feel isn't good at all. Way to easy to steer.

Mine is also very light in terms of effort required to steer. Some days I like it though.

You have to use a first gen pitman arm on the box. Put the arm on so it runs towards the front of the car.

I put an A/C Delco Reman box ( 3rd gen Iroc ) on mine and its a little too hard to steer. It feels good if your driving it hard and its good at higher speeds , but at low speeds ( say under 65mph ) it's kinda stiff
and "notchy".

I like it though.

Your pump control valve can really affect how much effort also.
