Cutting front coils...1 coil==2"???

They don't make lowered coils for my car ('76 Jag) so I'm gonna cut them to lower the front some.

Is the general rule of thumb 1 coil==> 2 inches lower?

Pretty much......careful you don't heat the coils to much.......

Take a look at the lower attachment point of the shock. If it's in the middle of the lower A arm, then a 1" cut pretty much equals 2" of drop.

If they're new coils, I recommend you let the car sit with all the weight on it for at least a couple weeks before cutting. The car will lower itself as the springs settle.
