Can anyone with a 69 Camaro and either the DSE 2" or 3" drop leaf springs measure the height of the car at the fender lip?

I think many of us are debating between the 2" and 3" drop and unsure which is better.

On my 69 with stock sagging springs and a 27" tire, the top of the fender lip comes in at 25".

The Hotchkis 1.5" drop spring claims to locate a 69 Camaro with a 25.7" tire at 24.75" to the fender lip. With a 27" tire that should be somewhere in the 25.5" range.

So I am guessing here that the DSE 2" drop spring *should* get me about where I am now, if it really .5" lower than the Hotchkis.

Just curious if anyone has any real measurements so we can better compare the ride ht of the 2" and 3" drop leafs.

tap tap tap - this thing on?

So no-one on this forum is actually running the DSE leafs then?

That alone makes me question if they are the right solution....

I have DSE 3" drop leafs on my 69. I'm running a 255/45/17 rear tire. I went out and took a measurment from ground to fender lip. It was about 24 1/4 inches or so. My car sits on carpet so it might be off a little. A picture of my car can be seen on Billet Specialties web site under "news". I'm winner #8. That should give you an idea of what a 3" drop looks like. I'm running 2" drop Hotchkis springs in the front with DSE upper & lower a-arms. Believe me it's low. Hope this helps.

That car is bitching yellowralleys. What size rear tire are you running, and what rims are those?

https://static1.pt-content.com/images/noimg.gifThanks guys. 255-45-17 is a 27" tire, same as I have now and mine sits at 25". I may go with the 2" drop to start, and if I need to adjust it I can always do a .5" or 1" lowering block. Since I am going to a 25.6" tire from a 27" tire that will already drop the car .7". I want to end up about where I am now, but with a 25.6" tire instead of a 27" tire.

Rear tire is a 275/40/17. Wheels are American TT-CL-205s.
