Hey guys,

Just looking for a little experience here. I am setting up my PS system and have been overwelmed by the information that I have collected so far.

The system will include a compact pump, remote reservoir & cooler. I already have a proper teflon lined high pressure hose. -10 for reservoir to pump, -6 for the rest.

The vendors I have talked with have given me conflicting information regarding plumbing the low side. I wanted to run Push-lok hose for low side, but one vendor I talked with warned against it, reporting that the hose didnt have sufficient vacuum ratings for the -10 hose, yet he also stressed the fact that the reservoir should be mounted higher than the pump allowing a gravity feed. I can see a small vacuum being created by the pump, but enough to pull a -10 hose shut?

Will the Push-Lok be OK? Anyone have any experience with this?

I know it may be brought up, but I have tried to avoid braided stainless lines when not needed as it appears to be overkill for my needs. The only ones presently on the car are the brake flex lines.

Thanks in advance,
Shane

Push lock should work for the low side return hoses. I'd plan on using hose that will withstand 100 psi, but the return probably won't see that high a pressure normally. The dash 10 is the one to worry about as far as collapse problems, you need it to be fairly stiff to prevent that.

I would also be concerned about fitting ID restrictions. I bored out the dash 10 reservoir fitting on mine and put a radius on it too because it had a very small ID.
I did a system similar to yours, a Sweet pump and bracket, remote reservoir and made up hoses. I used normal aircraft braided for return lines and cooler lines, with hydraulic hose (two wire braid) for the pressure hose. That hose is on the stiff side though and I had to carefully route a loop large enough to allow pump belt adjustment.

The dash 10 reservoir line is normal AN braided.
The sweet reservoir is a foam maker as it comes, the return fitting is made wrong.
