what part of GA is that in?

SO far in south GA, I might as well call myself a Florida boy.

WS6
02-13-2007, 06:02 PM
haha with all the donks you're building Boiler you could easily claim that.

Speaking of that. I saw something rare in the Kroger parking lot over here in Athens. An 80s caprice LOWERED with normal size rims. Hell, I nearly took a picture just to prove it to myself later.

As for events, I'm so busy with school and work I don't know what the hell I have time for. I may be moving into ATL if I get accepted to GA Tech. I'll be right down the road from you Venomous off Osbourne Rd in Brookhaven.

I do hope to make it to some of the year one events before I move into ATL. I also hope my work schedule will be slower once I move. That way I can concentrate on school and possible have time for some fun.

There address is : Hwy 411 Motor Speedway

PT car? W'thehellisthat?? Any attempt at explanation is met with that 'Deer in the headlights' look. I completely confuse people when I talk about converting front drum brakes to 13" Corvette disc brakes and a 17" wheel and tire setup. Also nobdy ever heard of Guldstrand. So I got some kind of import springs on the front of my car. Also how in the world did you find a 9 inch to fit without spending several thou. for a custom built one? I used my brain, thats how. But most people just look at what I do as a mildly curious exercise in the absurd. Besides everybdy knows that 67 Firebirds came with 455 big block engines and on and on and on......

WS6
06-18-2007, 06:39 PM

You're absolutely right...I got no problems & no complaints. Life's is the best it's ever been, especially since I got divorced from a 20 yr handbrake, fought a 2 yr custody battle(& won), lost 2 restaurants & half my net worth(wasn't much) to the ex.
You gotta think outside the box when you're 50 & have no income, 2 kids to raise & no formal education. So, I put everything I had left in Gibb/Harrell Novas, Yenko's, COPO's & some other stuff.
It paid off. Now I want a fun, fast car to drive....is that hard to understand? Life's too damn short:bananna2:

I got an auto trans & 12 bolt rear, complete interior & traded the wheels and tires back to the seller for an M-21 4 spd. Not bad for 9K especially since it has the mini tubs & roll bar.
Hoping I might get lucky & see a 3/8" no return fuel line, meaning it could be an orig BB Camaro

Hey Adam,

NASA is having an event at Road Atlanta Dec 5,6,7. Info can be found at: http://www.nasa-southeast.com/schedule.jsp . You'll need a $40 license and it works out to about $200/hr track time. I ran in HPDE3/4.

That would be kewl and I will definitly keep an eye out. I've driven the track several times and had a blast. It use to be pretty hard on the tires but I believe they have reconfigured and repaved since. Its more of a bike track and has no elevation changes...still fun. Also, at 4300lbs, any track is hard on my tires :)

Also, for 2009, be sure to check out the SVTCobraClub events. They are not for profit and open events up to any car. I had over 4hrs of track time at CMP for $150 this spring. Great track by the way.

If you feel like drag racing on NOV 8th, check out www.SSHS8.com (http://www.SSHS8.com). We have Commerce rented and will have run all day lanes if you weigh in less than 4,000lbs.

hey man- great to meet you.

We left after we both had 3 runs a piece but we had a good time - both of our last runs in the left lane were a bit wild - the car was literally sliding towards the other lane at the 1000 foot mark at 110mph - we think that lane was still slick from the guy who blew out his transmission earlier.

I think we might have to recover the drivers seat after some of the suede was sucked up off it during this pucker up experience.......

going over the the alabama dragway tomorrow - supposedly it is a bit better track - they dont allow imports to torch the track so it supposedly hooks a bit better.

tell the members of the event thanks! for letting us run our car as well.

Jeff,

Great meeting you and thanks for coming out. Your car is awesome. Not only does it look great, it sounds incredible. Sorry you couldn't put the power down. Too much HP is a good problem to have

How did you do in AL? Any better results?

yeah - it did much better - I am an idiot sometimes - I did not set my tire pressures correct at the atl track. I put them at 14 on the rear and it hooked up fine. I ran 11.4 at 134 in alabama and that was with me having a hard time everytime going into third gear - its really difficult for some reason - I am going to see if I cant get it adjusted. once that is smooth I am confident its going to run in the 10;s because I literally blew .5 to 1 second with those missed shifts and still ran 11.4

running your rear tires at 40 psi does not work well - lol

that is why it was not hooking up.

btw -everyone else I talked to said to leave my rear end at 3.23 and that changing it like the other guy recommnded - up to a 4.1o would make the rear hooking up a lot worse.

it hooks now.. no problems.

Is it the one right where PIB and Peachtree road intersect? I'm looking at Google Maps and I'm assuming that's the one you're talking about.

Max at the Goodyear on Hwy 9 and Windward in Alpharetta across from Fry's has done plenty of work for me with my Forgelines.

Grand Tourismo East has also balanced my Forgelines. They tried to standard mount a reverse mount Forgeline for me, honest mistake, and stood by their work. They gave me the option to send it back to the factory to fix a small blemish or their guy. Mistakes happen, you find out how good their customer service is when one is made. I would use the shop again in a second. Plenty of the local Vette guys use them as well.

Whenever you need tires and wheels mounted, ask around to find out who has a leverless tire changer. They have been around for a decade, but are VERY expensive. Now, several companies make these adn their may be a local dealer who recognizes the benefits to customers like us. The company that I work for bought a Hunter Auto34 and a RoadForce Variation machine back in December. We can mount tires in minutes with a technician standing beside the machine working toggle switches while pneumatic arms and rollers do all the work.
Also, if you have a lowered vehicle, ask around for a dealer with a Hunter in-ground scissor rack. They are flat to the floor and used for alignments on lowered and lifted vehicles.
