Imagine that! I get the first post in the new forum. Thanks for the idea Tony! LOL!

Anyway, Craig Boone and his '69 Camaro are making a return to track days after a major engine explosion (https://www.pro-touring.com/events/2004_Hothckis_Buttonwillow/boom/index.htm) at Buttonwillow (https://www.pro-touring.com/events/2004_Hothckis_Buttonwillow/index.htm) a few years ago. Myself and Craig will be there.

The local Pantera club has rented the track for the weekend. If anyone wants more info please let me know.

Craig hasn't run since then?
I hope he remembers how!

Yeah, it's been way too long. He's been in engine jail since and I think on his second engine. It's a long messy story.

I heard he decided to "Go Big" on his new engine. Too bad it took so long.

What kind of rules does the Pantera Club operate under?

I don't remember. I'll have to call to get info. I lost my flyer.

Here are the rules e.t.c.

It's a PDF file. Hope you can make it.

Now you know why I'm looking for a new helmet. LOL!

I've never been on the big track.

So, anyone going to join us this weekend? It looks to be a lot of fun.

Dang I wish I had seen this post sooner :( I would love to head out there but I don't think I can make it on such short notice. I notice the form says snell 2000 but doesn't specify if it needs to be SA or if M is ok. Any idea?

I called. An M version hat is fine. I just bought a new M version myself.

I can't wait for this weekend. If anyone is interested here are the pics from the last time Craig and myself went.

Hmm well it's only 83 miles away and since I already have the helmet I wouldn't have to rush out and purchase anything. I'd have to try and get tech inspected at the track :/

Guess I can call tomorrow and see if they have any open spots or cancellations.

For those who drive their car to these events what do you do with tools, supplies, stuff while on the track? Is there a relatively secure location to leave them?

So how was it? They were booked when I called.

It was fun. Craig ran for two days without problems. I should have pictures and video up in a few days. Maybe next year we can put together a larger group. I hear rumor there will be another event at Buttonwillow in June. I'll post details when I hear more.

Cool. Looking forward to pics/video. Yeah when I called about this event the person I spoke with mentioned the Buttonwillow even this summer.
