what I am designing is a cage that has horizontal bars with down pipes welded into the floor/rockers of my Monza, then bring a bar down along the side of the seat so I can still get in.
I am thinking cross bar right in fron of the seat and one right behind with places to mount seat hoops to brace both seats. Then run brace bars back to the floor at the base where the upper seat mounted. now on the upper I was thinking using some sort of soild steel mount and making the hoops bolt in.( I want to be able to remove them so the recline action can be used on road trips).
I have seen Cobra racers use something similar.
I dont intend to do much autocrossing but I do want to use the cage assembly to tie the car together and not use regualr weld in subframe connectors.
any ideas? are these bad? unclear?
Thanks
Lee

why do you want to avoid the sub frame conectors?

by the way pipe is for moving turds, with cages use tubing:poke:

well first off i would use a min of 1.5" by .120 wall DOM for the cagework. You need to explain more the idea is still a little unclear from you original explination. If you have any pics that would help. And as far as the removable bar chack out these,
