i have a friend who has a 67 mustang gt convertable it needs a total resto but is all their, and i think( not 100% positive) its #'s matching as well, kicker is it doesnt have a title...i belive if bought i could apply for 1, but just 1 more thing to think about. anyway to be truthful...im not a ford fan but would really like a pro tour style convertable....anyway what kind of money is it worth? he wants 5k for it, but i'm not sure.........anyone got any ideas??

$5k isn't too bad anymore for a convertible, but that's for one with a title. You'd really need to show some pics of what the car is like and what it'll need.

If your friend really wants to sell it, tell him to apply for the title. I don't know what state you're in but some states are easier than others. He may have a very difficult time selling it without a title.

If its a real #'s matching GT vert you better buy it for that price!!

We don't need titles for classic vehicles here in NH. If you can't buy it, I would be interested for that price (seriously!).

I would check the torque boxes and the cowl area. It's pretty common in these cars and if you're in body work you know how much work it is to fix these areas. If the car is truely a GT and depending on the motor that it came with, it's well worth the 5k. You can apply for a title in most states and if you can handle the body work and the car is all there, it's well worth it. If you want, send me the VIN and I'll let you know what the car should be.

Check the rockers and floor of any classic Stang vert. They are known for rust in those areas along with the trunk. The price isnt bad but not sure what you want as far as resale down the road. It might be worth more to a stock restore than pro-tour. Getting a title is a must to resale in most states. Yes there are some states that a bill of sale is all you need.

Get the #'s off the tag in the driver door, they will tall all....just the VIN wont tell you much.
