So, what do your guys think were the "best deals" of BJ this year?
Now I'm not talking about stuff like the "Last Stingray" that went for $650K, but bargains the average guy could afford (ie, less than $30K)
I heard there were quite a few cars that sold for under $25K..
What do you guys think? Oh, does anyone that went have a catalog with all the sales prices listed?

I like the idea of doing a piece on good deals at auctions, but judging from the mixed feelings among folks on this forum alone, I think better to leave B-J out of it. More interesting to me is that I've been to many smaller regional auctions over the years and have been totally stunned by the killer deals that have been available. Heck, at the auction at HAN a few years ago, I watched several very very nice rods sell for under $15k, and several very good driver quality cars sell for sub $8k. I still wish I'd bid on that 455 powered '70 Olds Vista Cruiser that sold for $1800. I heard the new owner drove it 1200 miles home.

hands down The Von Dutch bus. Should have brought 10 times what it did. That's proof positive BJackson isn't bidding on the cheap and buying cars. It got off the money more than once. The Peterson should have bought it. It was full of all his tools and machinery. An absolute steal. I wasn't there or it would have brought much more.

B-J tried to add some brand-new custom motorcycles last year and I believe they went very cheaply for what they were.
This year earlier in the week, there seemed to be some very nice cars sold at "bargan" prices, but everything looks good on TV. Perhaps there were things that detracted from their value.
For sure, "cream of the crop" muscle cars are fetching big dollars, but there were some lesser "Driver" class cars like SB mid-60's Corvettes that would be fun cars to have and they'd hold their value well.

I don't think so.. didn't like the cars and that fact that the Tuttles owned them was a joke since they never drove them.. at least SR. didn't..
Hey Bob, I got some KILLER shots from Barrett Jackson of the Cuda going over the block.

The best deals were in the Phoenix newspaper. Unfortunately I only bought 4 cars this year and Bill Howell bought one. My buddy and I bought a total of 8 out of the newspaper during the 2006 BJ sale.
Between the newspaper and the Saturday/Sunday show at the Pavillion, there were 1000's more cars for sale than at the auctions.

I think this is a good deal, you could do a lot with the stance and set of wheels and be a nicer looking car.
