Green door glass and clear door glass

I took out my door glass tonight and noticed that I have two different pieces. It's ok, I have two different doors!

All in all, it's not a big deal because I do have all new glass to go in, but it made me wonder "why are there two different glasses here?".


Is it an optional tint thing, or something they did differently between the Norwood and Van Nuys plant maybe?

I'll be interested to see what the experts say. Several years ago, I was told that it was the difference between a car that was originally equipped with A/C and without (the "green" is for an A/C car).

Yes, you have some factory tinted glass (green) and clear glass. Tinted was a option
