Nomally I do not site trough a entire youtube videa, but for that it was well worth it. My only regret is that I could not listen to it through my home stereo. I have the DVD from the Rio concert which looks like it is from the same tour and the solo is just as impressive. There is a reason Rush has been around for 30 some odd years.

Although I am a huge fan of classic rock and 70's - 80's rock, I never liked Rush. Something about the lead singers voice just threw me off, but that was THE BEST drum solo I have ever heard and seen. It was amazing.

All the guys at work are music lovers. A while back they were debating who was the greatest drummer of all time. They asked me and I said "my dad" of course who has been a drummer since he was 14. They wanted me to call him and ask him who was the best drummer of all time. without hesitation he replied Neil Peart or Buddy Rich. Great video!! Thanks for sharing!!

I'm also a huge RUSH fan and can play most of their songs :git: . . for some reason the video didn't play but the sound did and I knew it was from the Rio soundtrack quickly! Coming on tour starting in June. I plan on a couple shows at least. I've seen them a few times already for sure . . some in the 70's and 80's. All three of the members are fantastic musicians! :smoke:

Rush in on my top three fav, in fact I was listening to 2112 today along with Hemispheres. You get an appreciation for the vocals after listening to his badassness.

Yes Geddy's voice can be a little shrill especiall in the early days on Rush, Fly By Night, and Hemispheres even. By the 80s I thought he had mellowed out very nicely. I dig his voice though and I love their playing even more. Their music is simply awsome and that's all three of them, not just the lead guy that rocks. Glad you guys enjoyed it.

Oh and Bonham is amazing as well. He is much more subtle though. Kashmir is the most badass Zeplin song I think. Another drummer who is fantastic is Danny Carey of Tool. Again, not so obvious in the songs as Pert but still very talented and a pure pleasure to listen to

tough to say bonham's subtle after mobydick live, but he was surrounded by some insane talent on all sides, so i'll agree he blends in on most of their better-known songs

I found this about the washing machine:


Geddy no longer uses actual amplifiers on stage. He uses something called "Sans-Amp" which basically let's him process his sound just as if he had an amp on stage, but it goes directly to the sound board. He didn't want his side of the stage to seem empty so he decided to put dryers on stage, just as a joke. For the R30 tour he added a snack machine as well.

The drum solo was pretty damn cool. Thanks for sharing.

Note I AM NOT A DRUMMER but I love the drummer in tool,love the drums in "learn to swim" My friend is an excellent drummer who plays in a few bands and he said the guy in tool is so-so. I also love the drum sound in avenged sevenfold and he said the same thing about them. What do I know.

He worships neil peart, everyone agrees he is amazing.
