Well, on my b-day my beautiful car was ruined. I can't really afford to send it to a body shop for at least 6 months. So, I'm going to spray it myself. What's the worst I can do? Screw it up and have it painted anyway. So, how do I go about this. Can I take the car to a PPG or Dupont paint store and have them make me a quart to match? What do I need to put in the paint to make it flexible for the nose? What clear coat? How many coats? I'll be doing this in a 2 car unheated garage. What primer should I use?
Thanks for your tips!

The problem you are going to run in to is Clear it is only sold by the gallon and. Last time I bought a gallon of Dupont Chroma premier it was about $300 a gallon.

few issues
you need sealer, base, base reducer, clear, hardner
for a daily driver, i do not use it, but you can use cheaper clears and it will last a few years, or better yet a decent shop would pour you off some clear and sell it to you so you woul dnot have to buy a bunch, i know i would if someone needed some
The only problem I can see is the cold weather. If the parts on the car are factory GM sheet metal the ecoat on them will be fine. Use a primer surfacer over the ecoat.
You can buy flex agent for he bumper.
there will be a paint code you can use or you can have it matched if its not a factory color.
use the base until you get a uniform color. good coverage.
you can buy clear in quarts.I would use a fast clear for panel repair to help it to flash quick and keep as little dirt out as possible.
If its really cold like it is here in Indy The primer will take for ever to flash and the clear you can forget about. It will sag in cold weather before it flashes.
The other issue may be equipment.Do you already have a compressor? spray gun?
We use 3 guns to paint 1 car.A primer gun with a 1.8 tip. a gun for base only and a gun for clear. If you use one gun you run the risk of having the old glob of crap come spitting out at the worst time. usually in the clear.

With freezing temps in KY we just primered my car no problems with Kerosene heaters getting the garage up to 70. By some way you will need heat though as they said or I wouldn't even bother... Then you'll need all the equipment involved.

yes 60 degrees min, hardners do not work below that.
unless there is body work to be done you do not need a urethane primer, the aftermarket e coat is fine on daily drivers, i do this everyday and have no issues, i only liquid scuff the ecoat with scuff pad, then seal, base clear, most of todays clears etc are more then flexible enough for the bumper cover

The search tool is your friend.
I have contributed a lot to threads about painting cars at home. Do a few searchs and you'll get 3-4 very well explained examples on how to do it and what materials you need.

If you have to wait call around and get a price on having the new fender shot with epoxy primer so as to seal it up so it doesnt get moisture under the primer and start it rusting. That black stuff will hold off water for a month or so at best.
At least soak it down in some type of spray bomb clear coat, krylon, get a scuff pad(scotch brite and lightly scuff it and sealer her up and wait for a body shop.
