but still a long way to go...
Dubbed "Vertigo" due to an inner ear virus I had 2 years ago which gave me severe vertigo for several months before calming down. I try to have a sense of humor about it now.
The car is being built by a small shop in Carson City, NV and I just got some updated pics of the suspension this week.
I picked up a ProCharged 406 (was in Don Estel's 69 Camaro and built by Jody Bernard) on this board a few weeks ago. Dyno'd at over 700 rwhp with the 14 psi pulley, but of course Speed Merchant didn't save that dyno run, only the one that made 683 rwhp. Go figure...
Picked up some custom-built stainless stepped headers on ebay last week for a good price.
The subframe is nearly done with AirRide Strong Arms, QA1 coilovers, Unisteer rack & pinion, Hotchkis sway bar, Wilwood 12" rotors w/ 4 piston calipers.
The car came with a Currie 9" already installed with Wilwood discs and 3.89 gears.
I am heading up (4 hour one-way trip) to see the progress and make some interior and exterior decisions in 3 weeks. Looking forward to seeing my car in the flesh.
See the link in my sig. Hope you like it so far. It sure is a chore selecting so many parts of a build, but it's a lot of fun too.
Thanks for looking - comments/questions are encouraged!

Got the new Nittos in (thanks Jon @ Driverz Inc.)and mocked up on the rear to see how fitment is with the custom fabbed mini tub.
275/35/18 555 front
335/30/18 555R rear
Should be buttoned up and ready for paint next week sometime. Will be going with a dark gray paint color with a possible stripe of some kind.
Will have more pics as they come, but I love the look of the 335s under there!

Yep, helluva deal for that motor. Timing was perfect for me.

It's been over a year since I updated this thread. Wow.
I went up to see the car for the first time time in months, and while I wish it was done of course, it was nice to say for the first time I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and the car looks to be getting close to getting running and time for troubleshooting and road tuning.
I did figure out I don't like the shifter location on my TKO 600, but I did originally plan to run a console, and now that has changed so we are sending back to Keisler to have them move that back about 3.5 inches. It would be okay if I kept the current bent shifter stick that came with it, but I am set on a straight stick, so that's gotta go. Oh well.
I also don't like the angle of the gauge panel that was built so that is getting modified so it sinks back into the dash area and lines up better with the sight path.
The stock tank we had baffled and sumped is interesting to me. It does hand out a tad bit lower than the pumpkin which I don't think is a problem, and I don't expect a fuel delivery/starvation issue (as least I was told this would be okay). Anyone disagree with that? I'm curious....
I took 50 pics and you can see more on my album (the last 50 at the bottom are the ones I took 2 days ago). But here are some of highlight photos of where things are at.

I like how the 69 tails turned out! I didn't think the angle of the ends would jive, since the tail panel of the 67-68s don't angle like the 69s, but it turned out great!

Thanks. Yeah, they just had to be changed, even tho there is a little hassle/extra cost and time involved.

Thanks. Yeah I was a little worried about that too, but I think it worked out okay.
I just noticed that Rad Rides' Nova flipped these tails around so the square end was on the outside and it matched up pretty good.

I see what you mean about the gauges. Seems like they are facing down a bit. Otherwise, nice car. Really coming along.

Thanks Steve. I am not sure why I haven't gotten you a good pic yet. Maybe because I don't have a very good camera or picture taking skills! :)
What would be a good shot or angle that you think would be good? Are any of the ones I posted worth a crap?

Yes it is stock sub and after a few people successfully fit 275s with stock sub (67-68 only) I said let's go for it. I screwed up the backspacing the first try and so we had to redo that but it fits now and turning radius may be compromised just a smidge but not much. You have to use tubular control arms obviously. I did quite a bit of research and found Carl C's website very helpful. He is a member on here and profiled this on his site. Go down about 2/3 the way on his page.

gas tank sump has me puzzled??
Yeah I was waiting for someone to comment on that as it confused me when I saw it too. But he gave me some brief explanation of how it will work and be okay. It was already done when I went up to see it.
What do you think? Will it work? Why won't it work? What should it be like?
thanks

Yea,it'll be ok as long as you are not expecting sub 1.50 60' footers at the drag strip (or carry at lease 1/2 to 3/4 tank full of gas)

Well the 1.5 60s are not an issue. But the baffling and sump were put in to avoid having to run at least 1/2 tank of gas, as this motor was in a 69 camaro with same fuel system and stock tank with no sump or baffling and had that issue. So thats why we put the sump and baffling in.
Is it installed backward? Thats what thought when I saw it first cuz thats what I am used to seeing on sumped fuel cells and the like.

Lemme ask you this, since I am worried now a little more about this, what would you do if you were me. Change it at all? I don't wanna have to maintain 1/2 tank at all times.... that was the point of the sump and baffling....
thanks!

alot depends on what your'e going to do with the car, any kind of competition-sports/driving you might see a problem. I say try it first before you change tanks (that can be done at any time) see what happens ??

I love the steering wheel! Would you mind me asking what it is? If they offer one in full brushed, that's the exact look I'm going for.

Thanks for the help Jerry. I will probably just drive the hell out of the car on the street 99.9% of the time. Might take it to a track one time for kicks, but it's not the reason for building it.
Yeah might as well see how it works as is at this point!
Hey, would love to see some pics/details of your car. I am also hoping to do an open road race at some point in my life.

My builder is buying back my fuel system from me and I will be going with one of the aftermarket stainless tank, most likely with an in-tank pump.
Now I am just trying to find a good deal on one!
