Anyone suggest a good heavy front steer 'factory' rack with around
22-27 inch spread between inner tie rod pivots?

2.5 to 3.5 lock to lock?

I think the C4 vette one suits that.

Good choice on a front steering end take off rack. I'm going to put one on my vette also (but the cross shaft spacing left to right is much smaller so I'll need a 17" or so unit, probably a woodward/appleton/sweet rack if it has enough sweep)

What's it going into and have you figured out the mounting?
I prefer the end take off since it's best suited to IFS and the proper spacing of the rack in the geometry allows you to get the bump steer nailed down exactly. Also, front steer will product an understeering effect during hard cornering when the control arms bushings deflect inward, unlike the rear steer which gives oversteer. That's the main reason why I like a front steer rack.

The vette racks are available w/ 2,5 & 2 L/L if I'm not mistaking.

Good luck with the project. :)

Check my "FOR SALE" to see where I'm putting this. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Doug Anderson.
