so in the last 3 weeks, i have lowered the car and had the 4 point put in with the subframe connectors as well as the new seats. I was stoked. I had been driving the car sitting on the stock seat with springs going into my A$$.
Here are the problems: When we measured for the 4-point, we used the stock seats (wich i hadnt bolted in all the way), with the stock set up, the bar is more than 6 inches from my head, when we went to put the new seats in, we realized that they sat much higer than the stock hence putting my head 1/2 in from the roof and too close to the bar. Also, since the seats were never bolted in previously, we never realized that the driver side floor pan (which someone replaced previous to me owning the car), is uneven and we had to shim one side by and inch. So now i have to figer out if i can lower the seats at all (and we fabbed the seat mounts so we cant go any lower there) or i have to buy new ones. Also have to figure out if i should replace the driver side floor. OR, if i replace the driver side floor, if that will fix everything.
So, i then drive the car home from inglewood to the valley (for you out of staters, that is not fun on a friday afternoon at 4pm) and wow, what a difference with the subframe connecters tied into the 4 point....get all the way home and my girlfriend calls me from the mall with a dead battery. So i drive over in the camaro with a pal following me (he is building his 70 c10 truck which he is in and we talk a lot of smack), get over to the girlfriend, jump her mustang (i save the wisecrack about how a camaro came to the aid of a mustang), we depart and as i exit the mall, i realize that my rear brakes are stuck on.......have to pull back into the mall and get towed back. BUZZKILL!
THe parking brake is not on......so what the hell is this? It is not the rearend or tranny that i can tell, but the rear brakes are stuck on........any thoughts?
any thoughts on the seat issue... i will post pics later today....
AHHHHH thought i was so much closer.......damn!
thanks, feel better now.
oh yeah, 68 camaro with drums in the corners...
