That's a nice starting point you have there! Great to see good ol American steel is so popular abroad.

This car sounds like it's gonna be loud, fast and bright. All I've got right now is "Flash" , "Inferno", "Firestorm" or something sarcastic like "Yellow belly" or retro like "Ol Yeller". Yeah, I'm probably really reaching here. It's Friday night.......long week.:wedgie:

I searched australian aminals and came up with these:
tasmanian devil
bandicoot
wombat
thylacine (another name for the tasmanian tiger/wolf)

Looking at what you wrote, I came up with "Hot Candy" because of the way you describe the paint as candy yellow with ghost flames.

Never understood the whole project naming thing myself. Looking back at all the named race cars from the late 60 to mid 70s, they mostly seem kinda comical now. I'm sure a lot of the PT naming will seem the same in another 25-30 years.

Name calling is soooo much more fun if it's personal don't ya think? "THE CAR " just doesn't seem to define what it is and since it isn't what it was anymore the factory name won't do very well, so we name them. If you still wonder why it's personal then send your title signed over to me and your loss will be nameless except when I tell others it was "HIGH PLAINS MOPAR's " car. Then I bet the name will sadden you into calling it something else like "MY OLD CAR"!!! Then who will be laughing?

...and if I sell any named project of mine, the rest of the world will still call said named project by its factory given name, regardless of how personal any naming of the project was to me.

If somebody were to sell a '69 Super Widget on ebay without reference to its original pedigree, I don't think they would get much in the way of bidding.

If you have so many cars you need to reference them in a more personalized manner, thats cool, I just don't understand it any more when it comes to cars and it is not too disimilar to guys who feel the need to name their other unit either. But, whatever floats yer boat. After all, that why we don't all drive the same make of car either, mostly.

Interesting comments guys, the naming has nothing do to other than it makes it easier to reference, and the plan is to show the car so it also helps for recognition.

For those who posted ideas thanks, for those who posted commentary re value / opinion of naming versus non naming your views are welcomed, but if I felt I didn't want to name my project I wouldn't have posted this post.....

..why cant you guys just shut up and give a name.. why does it always have to be a debate why someone names their car?.. why do you give a damn if he wants to name it or not.

if youre intrested then help him name it..

if you dont like names.. then do him a favor and not say anything.
because either way.. he wants a name for his car.

just like DOG will always be a dog but CUJO will always be CUJO even if it is "just another dog"

you dig?

oh yea, for the car.. "old Yeller"

ahhaha the irony.

That's what my wife calls my...oops. Wrong forum. :candle:

Maybe this will help...

Hope and Happiness: Yellow is sunshine. It is a warm color that, like red, has conflicting symbolism. On the one hand it denotes happiness and joy but on the other hand yellow is the color of cowardice and deceit.

Nature of Yellow: Yellow is one of the warm colors. Because of the high visibility of bright yellow, it is often used for hazard signs and some emergency vehicles. Yellow is cheerful.

Culture of Yellow: For years yellow ribbons were worn as a sign of hope as women waited from their men to come marching home from war. Today, they are still used to welcome home loved ones. Its use for hazard signs creates an association between yellow and danger, although not quite as dangerous as red. If someone is yellow it means they are a coward so yellow can have a negative meaning in some cultures.

There has been a "Sunkist" Camaro done at one time and it was orange, so maybe "Sunburst" Camaro might be good unless it has been done and I missed it?

It's hard to find somethig that hasn't been done with yellow for the theme. So it might be good to go with something that you just like as a name.

.. just like DOG will always be a dog but CUJO will always be CUJO even if it is "just another dog"Why not name it 'Cujo'? An inside joke to those of us here that actually seems to fit pretty well, with the whole story behind it being tied to an off-hand comment remaining a mystery to everybody else.
