So my friend gets a call after school today from his mom.

"Bobby, are you sitting down right now?"
"Yes mom"
"Grandpa and Grandma....." Bobby is thinking, OMG my grandparents just died
"....are now millionaires"
"Your kidding me?"
"They won the Calgary dream lottery house"
"Holy ****"

and the convo went on.

They won a house valued at 1 million Canadian. A BMW 635ci worth 100grand Canadian and 10grand Cash.

The house has one insane view too. Fully furnished. We're planning on going up this weekend to stay in it lol.

Check the link out and watch the vid under the pic.

I found three dollars in my jeans this morning. I don't know how much that is in Canadian dollars, but in NY dollars, that's a cup of coffee so I was pretty stoked.

So is Canada Like the the USA I mean if I won that Id hve to come up with the cash to pay the Taxes on the estimated value of the House and the car and Uncle Sam will dig about 50% of that 10 grand.

Nope. Its just cold hard cash.

Everything is being sold though. The grandparents want to stay in our city because most of the family is here. Taxes on the house per month is 700, Utilities is 1200/month. Thats crazy mon.

Matt's right!
Up here in the Great White North there are no taxes on lottery winnings, draw prizes, or even bingo pots. You win it, you can keep it all.

In Ohio If I winn a $100,000 Lotto Id receive $63,000
But On the House I asked around. If I won it I could take possession of it and then would have to take out a lone on it to pay all the taxes then Id would have a mortgage but the payments would be pretty cheap on a 30 year lone.

Holly cheap taxes Bat man. In my area taxes on a $100,000 usd house costs $600 USD a Half $1200 a year.

In my parents area a $100,000 house costs $2000 a half $4000 a year USD. In my parents area you cant find a house under $175,000 USD

Friend of mine here in Vancouver, BC, Canada won a similar lottery last year. House worth 2.1 million Cdn in a high-end area BMW X5 and $25K cash.

He ended up selling the house for about 3 million! Not bad for a $100 ticket!

Here in Canada you pay ZERO taxes on Lottery or Casino winnings

I dont know about in Canada, but in the US when you win the lottery they have the right to tell everyone who you are and where your from... Basically every "friend" you never knew you had will show up at your door to "visit". I have seen news stories on people who have won lotteries here in the US and most of them say the same thing... Too many people call/ visit etc and the just picked up and moved to another place.

Man I only owe about $30K on my house... wish I could win enough to pay that off.... I need Chip foose to redo my car and then sell it on Ebay for me.... :geek:

Ah yes the OLD DRY CRACK. I cant move back to my home town because of the taxes that are now there.

It was a blue collar town then a Walmart moved in and then the rich folk started to buy land. Funny how a WalMart draws in the people who wont shop there... :ripped:
