All,
It's been quite a while since I've posted here. I bought a house a while back and it's been taking up the little time I have left after work...

Since I last posted here I closed my shop in the San Francisco Bay Area and took a job with a pharmaceuticals company. The move to the new house was quite an adjustment as I went from a 1500 sq ft shop to a two car garage.

And getting nearer to the meat of this post, I put only about 20 miles or so on the el Camino in 2006, and none so far in 2007.

And getting still nearer to the meat of this post, I have been growing less and less interested in the automotive hobby in the last couple of years. A sad development indeed since hot rods have been my passion for the last 25 years. But I've recently, in the last few years anyway, stumbled upon a hidden talent - fiction writing. It's been quite interesting to discover that myself, a high school dropout, has any real writing talent. And to be honest, Tony Huntimer is partly to thank for the discovery, as it was he who asked for some help with his first book. I did some editing for him and discovered that I really liked it.

Anyway, enough dancing around. To the meat of the matter... I've decided to sell the el Camino. And there is a post in the for sale section of this site with the particulars.

Nice job on the Chevy, John Parsons. I've been waiting a long time to see that thing on all four tires.

Yo Vince!

Thanks very much. I was just looking at your ad, and wondering if somehow I could swing a deal to buy your Elky. I really dig the car. But I can't afford it, not without selling mine.

I hear you about discovering other talents and interests. I've also downsized my shop/garage with my recent move to Florida, and I've recently started screwing around with a guitar (did I say talents and interests? I meant interests, lol).

Good luck with the sale.

Don't sell your Elky!!!

Keep it AND write fiction! In fact, you can write a book about the trials and tribulations of owning and building a hotrod elky!(Unfortunately that would probably throw you in to the Non-fiction realm!)

John,

Your car has been one of the major inspirations for the build that I am currently doing. I love your car! Hopefully I will be able to see it up close and personal to see all the beautiful work that you put into it! FYI I have some musical gear if you're interested!

Welcome back Vince, glad to see you are doing well.

Are you still on the sunny side of the bay?

John P,
I thought you had opened your own shop? Or did I misunderstand? Anyway, enjoy Florida...

Novanutcase,
It's mostly a financial thing... Thanks for the reply though.

Hey Vince,
How are things? I left the sunny side of the bay for the sunnier side of the bay. I moved to Vacaville. It can get pretty toasty out here.

Hope all is going well for you guys.

Glad to see you posting,Vince, but sad to see your car for sale. It has been a big inspiration for my El Camino project. Sure wish I could come up with the funds to buy your car but I'll probably be in divorce court soon.
