Have you guys been watching the stuff rolling through in these early days???

I don't exactly keep my finger on the pulse when it comes to prices of fully restored rides but DAMN, it seems like they went up a bunch from even last year.

Two for reference:

68 Z28 / RS, Red-white.....I only caught a passing shot but it looked like a 100% restoration. I think it went for $72,000.
That one only seemed a little high.

70 Cougar Eliminator - 428CJ - $117,000. Damn!!

Oh, almost forgot about the 1970 AAR Cuda going for $94,000. Wow.

Seeing restored trucks and wagons for the same 70-100k range. They're super nice, but, they are the "mass-appeal" vehicles so the range struck me as odd!

Yea...like always there are some crazy numbers. But some of those cars are way underpriced too. I know its just the market but if you are a car guy and can afford to collect there are some great deals. That 56 Chevy, the Cadillac El Dorado Biarritz, and the blue Ford, forgot the year, all went for a lot less than I expected. If I had money I would have loved to buy that Caddy. Sweet!!!

The silver GTO that just went for $45k was nice..

speaking of under-priced....

1964 GTO, sweet silver paint, albeit an automatic....... $45,000. Seems like a bargain compared to later musclecars!

lol steve, you beat me to it!!!!

I cant beleave how "Affordable" some of the cars are, i mean it's all relative but 45k for a turn key muscle car, man some of them would be an easy 100 to build.

But i worked it out to bring one home to Canada with all the extras
10% buyers
State tax ( i think would be exempt or reimbursable)
7% Canada Federal Tax
6% provincial tax
18% exchange on the Dollar
Transport
hotel
i fugure you could add 50-55% to the price so 45 ends up 70,000.00
not such a deal any more for us anyway:crying:

The GSX clone went for $37,000 IIRC. It's been my favorite of the show so far.

Another shocker for me,....I'm just surprised that such an 'average' performace model would garner this much money.

Lot#973 - 69 Mustang GT Fastback - red - 390 engine, looked very very clean....standard GT rims with trim ring and center caps - $50,000!

Heck, I think a 70 Boss 302 went for only $62,000.

The 1969 Mustang GT is actually bit more rare than a 1970 Boss 302 since Ford built only 5396 GT Mustangs in 1969 and 7013 Boss 302's in 1970. The GT was kind of a lame duck package in 1969 because Ford introduced the Mach 1 package of which they built 72,458.

Also, the 1969 Boss 302 cars always bring more money than the 70 model because Ford only built 1628 of them in 1969.

Having said that I would still take the 70 Boss over the 69 GT any day.

There was a hot rod,no fenders, dark blue or black with body color rims and spinners. I just caught I glimpse of it but it went for under thirtyk and looked super cool. I was half asleep and saw the wrinkle finish dash and loved it.

Not much to go on but did any one catch it?

I think we are seeing some of these cars come back down to earth. It is so hard to tell by just watching on TV but, some of these cars look like really good buys. Did you guys see the 67 Red 437/435 Vette. This car didn't even hit 100k!!! I thought the car was perfect and so did the guys on the floor. The 71 454 4spd Chevelle that only brougth 55K or so. It was on documented 16k mile car with all the goodies. Some many more that I would have spent money on. God, I need another job!

What were the wheels on the black GTO? That was definetly in my top 5.

They look really similar to the wheels used in Horsepower TV's 55 SS "Super Shoebox" .....I thought they were Billet Specilities but I didnt see it on their site.

I think thoes would look killer on my future waste of money pro tour 72 Monte Carlo.

Also if must of been tubbed or at least a mini tub right??? It just looked too sick.

I say waste of $$$ because Montes cost triple what a Chevelle would cost to build up but only worth 1/3 the price

I liked how the other bidder got on stage and said he'd throw in an extra $250,000.
