I got the #'s that are stamped in the block in front of the head(can't get to the back of the motor for the #'s cast in)I need help deciphering them or sent somewhere to figure them out.The #'s and letters are....TO205TKB..any help would be appreciated.I have a chance to buy this motor for $300 complete It got pulled in the early 80's for gas milage purposes and been under a bench in the garage since then.Everything is there...pulleys...brakets..exhaust manifolds.Thanks in advance guys. :candle:

o2o5 means built Feb.5 I think you will find it to be a 402 truck engine. 1971 shows 310hp 1972 shows 210hp . Same TKB for both years
I found this at www.chevy-camaro.com and looked up engine codes.

TKB deciphers to a '71 (210hp) or '72 (300)hp 402 from one of the c10/c20/1500/2500 conversion cabs.

The T0205:
T: Tonawanda Engine Plant (NY)
02: Day
05: Month
TKB: Truck, KB= engine ID (Truck code guys say it's all three #letters)

To be sure of the year, you have to pull the Casting date off the back, which gets you close, then the head #s usually verify the 'round-about' time it was made.

Either way, it's a 402.
