;)When is the issue with the Tornino coming out? And why are there so many issues with plastic on them? I don't subrscribe and that really puts a damper on me possibly getting it at the store. I dunno what's in it!

We never do polybags anymore. Well, we do for January since there's a calendar in there. Feb, March, April and so on arn't bagged on the newstand. Believe it or not but Polybagged issues typically sell better (insert shrug here)
My Fairlane (torino) will be on the cover (and inside) the April issue of PHR. For March you have to endure a damn '68 Camaro.. lol

lol.. don't ya know it. Here's the deal with the March issue.
It was set to be a "Paint and body issue". For this we needed to shoot a cover. Johnny asks me to find a bright colored musclecar that we could shoot in a paint booth type deal.
Well, my '68 was at a paint shop and is a fairly bright color. Plus the guys at Best Of Show Coachworks are great to work with. The car isn't done but it was done enough for the shot. The graphics people killed the real color of the car. It looks like tomato soup on the cover. The pic inside the magazine (the paint story) was shot by me and more closely resembles the real color of the car.
Still have a bunch of little things to do, but once the wheels get here that stuff should go pretty fast then it's time to beat on it without any mercy whatsoever. lol

Yea, that car has some funky new-fangles rear suspension. The guy even paid full price for it. Just don't tell the other editors.. lol

That's '69 I shot at another shop. It's a House of Kolor expensive orange pearl mix. I knew when I was shooting it people would think it was my car since the paper hides that it's a '69 and not a '68.

it's an older HK USP cuz they don't make two-tone anymore. It's a V1 and you're holding it in the wrong hand. You cant use the decocking lever in that hand. And if it were mine I probably would have blurred the serial #.

WINNER!!!
1. It's a discontinued USP .45 full size - I got it when it just came out. Now that it's discontinued it's shot up in value. I might take it to Barret Jackson next year since they are selling pianos now. :)
2. I'm not holding it (I'm the guy reaching for the sky).. the holder is left handed. You can swap in a "lefty" decocking lever if you want, that's why there's a white line on the reciever.
3. I didn't think it would come out so clear.. oh well, what are they gonna do.. find out where I live? Heck, that's as easy as pie to find out.

I got mine yesterday. I do have a question about the white camaro in Hometown, I think her name is Rayne Cash. I don't understand that quarter mile time with the power she is getting from her LS1. 12.57? That doesn't sound right. Was she on street tires. She should have been flirting with 11's or have done 11's.
Nice write-ups this month too. PHR rules.

Could have been traction issues. That will often lower an ET but still produce a good MPH. Anyways, for Hometown we just take peoples word for it unless it's crazy talk. She's a member over at LS1Tech.

What is going on with the Firebirds rear wheels/tires? Did anyone else think that car needs a different set of wheels for the rear with the correct backspacing? It looked like a tubbed out car that was trying to run a standard size wheel. Not trying to pick on the car, I thought it was a great looking bird. I was just curious if it was just me, camera angles or whatever.

Yes, I was disturbed by the offset of the rear wheels.. lol
The rest of the car was cool though. A set of properly backspaced 18" rear wheels would do wonders on that car.

This car was prostreet in its former life so the wheel openings were widened to accomodate the big mickeys. This is why the current owner is running such a tall aspect ratio tire...a lo-profile tire would look even more dorky than it currently does...The car needs the quarters fixed.

That's no excuse.. my car was a drag car and the rear frames were move inward.. Making that look right isn't too tough.. maybe not cheap though.. lol
Cool car other that that.

I think he meant that the wheelwell openings were lengthened. It would probably need new quarters to make it right. Wider wheels would make it look better. He could stay with a tall tire to compensate for the lengthened wheelwell.

I agree...and by "widened" I meant the opening in the q-panel was stretched to accomodate a very tall tire...a common mod to pro-street cars.

Dammit Jim, I was late on that one. I had a crack head brother-in-law hold me at bay with the exact same gun! I would have ended his CRACK problem by having his jaw wired shut for about 6 months or so; I cussed and yelled, but my wife, his sister, was standing behind me? I wish she would have moved like I asked her, I would have beaten him senseless with his own gun or died trying. I do not think he could have pulled the trigger, NO MARBLES.
I have a little Native American in My Blood 1/8? He really had me angered, it was weird, because of the fact that he was pointing a .45 at me just made me madder. I was also one of the unlucky kids that ran under a Yard Jart in1978; I was 5 and my uncle had threw it. Dad said it sounded like a twelve gauge when it cracked through my skull. My brother was running next to me. He was 7 years old and he says he remembers the event like it was yesterday. Dad took me to the emergency room, with the Jart lodged in my head. They scanned my cat? Pulled it out and now I feel fine? Sometimes. Alot of kids died that way. That is why they do not make them anymore. I was a tough little 5 year old!
Mom said I was never the brightest bulb in the chandelier? I said I was going to whoop his ass. Put a Crack Head in the hospital, and they might have a chance to get back to reality.
I haven't heard from him in 6 years. I think he bought the gun about 8 years ago.
[COLOR=black] I wasn't scared, I had seen him shoot! Lolol.
He dirted quite a few at the 15 yard target?
Springfield does make a nice polymer frame two-tone now. Although you can't beat a 1911 Compact! Or a polished hard chrome .50 Dessert Eagle! Bought that the week after:confused:
Anyone have any advice on how to keep your foot in front planted while shooting the .50 hand cannon? Mine always comes off the ground, and I weigh 180 lbs? I love that gun, for sure!
Now I am looking into the .50 BMG single shots.
http://www.armalite.com/sales/catalog/rifles/ar50.htm
2800 FPS at 11,500 Ft Lbs muzzle velocity. I have a National Match M1 A-1 Springfield .308 it is sweet, but I must have a BMG. We have a 500 yard range at Fort Knox. I love that place!:offtopic:
I got carried away, but it has been a while since I saw one of those HK early gen USP's. I am a gun nut, Dad raised my brother and I to respect them. Probably started shooting .22's around 4 years old. We kept grandpas corn field free of varmits with a sweeet .273. My brother shot a hole through the hood of Dads truck one day. The corn field was down hill at about 150 yards. Paul was using the scope, he was only 14, and he was resting on the hood to hold steady. 150 yards at a ground hawg, takes a very steady hand. The hood of a truck at 2 feet, takes a Dumb Ass. LOLOLOL

The HK shoots very nice out of the box, the double-buffer recoil system is nice and I can stick it mud, dunk it water and fire off a round. Them Germans know how to make mechanical stuff.. lol
I've been offered nearly $1000 for it. Considering I paid $650 that's not a bad investment. Just picked up a new Benelli Nova pump.. I used to have a ton of stuff, but sold most of it off to buy car stuff. One uber-expensive hobby is enough. I think I have owned almost one of everything over time. I bet I'm on some ATF watch list because of the number of gun registered in my name.. lol
This is the most exotic thing I own these days.. its a PITA to even have it in CA.. XM-15 with 100 round CMAG and Bushnell heads-up holosight..

Hey steve i saw a blurb in cc or hr about a new carb setup by barry grant it is a inline 4 barrel, can you pull some strings and get a serious rundown on that for us. that would be worth almost any price and would even hold off the money while i wait for them to get a mopar set-up. thanks ,and bad penny's color is awesome, again my finances and ideas can not keep up, i wanted to paint the duster copper but by the time i can paint i will just be another follower. nice job, keep up the good work. according to the barry grant people, they intend to create a manifold for every major engine family. which of course means you chevy guys have it good. I think it will be the carb of the future. i would put it on my mopar smallblock in my daily driver and the one for my duster. it will be along eventually , i just need you chevy guys to snatch them up as fast as they can build them. give them a little persuasion, to follow through. I would give a nut if he would build one for a 335 series ford, my 250 4x4 could use it for sure, oh well there are only a couple of us that know ford400 and 351m are more than boat anchors. Darn near threw up when I saw "Toy Story." That guy is totally clueless. Of course his friends say it looks like a Hot Wheels car. What do you do when the wife asks if you like her new hair? You don't want to say it looks terrible, so you come up with something like "it's really curley." You point out what you think they are so proud of just to be nice.
Frankly I can't understand why Johnny was all over it. Did he lose a bet or has he been forgetting his meds?
After almost 30 years of reading car mags, I never thought anyone could make a Pro Streeter into something that looked even more stupid. This guy nailed a home run on it.

At least I tried to be nice about it. I hope the guy doesn't visit this site. If he does, he'll probably want to roll his car off a cliff after reading this.:seizure:
