I want to extend my rockers so that they hang down so that I won't be able to see my frame rails in the side profile anymore. I'd also like to run a side exit exhaust, so I was going to run it through the new rocker panel I created...

My question, is what is the best way to mount it? It will have to be rigid mounted to the rocker, will this cause problems with not having enough travel in the exhaust? (isn't this why most exhaust mounts have rubber hangers?)

Also, will this hurt my paint? (heat disappation) I've seen some guys use aluminum trim on the inside of the cutout. Does this help keep the heat down?

This is a rough idea of what I want to do. This is one of those silly "Dub City" models. I don't want my car to look so ridiculous with the giant rims and the air bags, but the basic idea is the same on the exhaust cutouts....

I would keep the exhaust mounted with some type of movement so it wont crack,I would make the opening in the rocker about 3/8 inch oversize and make the hanger close to the rocker to keep it firm in this area,Ive seen stainless trim around the pipes,so it probly would burn the paint if there wasnt any trim.
