Anybody here have or know someone that has parts for the Ford SVO 4.5L V6 engine that was out in the 90s. I'm trying to locate parts to build one up for a twin turbo project in my Ranger. I've done the whole V8 thing before and I got bored with it. I want something completely different. If anyone has any parts for this motor or any of the books published about it, please post here or PM me.

Any. I plan on building a good turbo motor when I have enough parts collected.

Are you talking about the SHO motor that was in the Taurus?

This is not a mod motor nor a Taurus motor nor an SVO Mustang motor. This was a 4.5L V6 available from Ford Racing (Ford SVO at the time hence the SVO) in the 90s and was used in Nascar Busch series cars when they ran V6s. These motors and their corresponding parts are no longer available and are somewhat hard to come by. Those are the parts and info I am searching for. I'm attaching a couple pics of the 4.5L V6.

Maybe one of those "used race car parts" sites would help?
Anybody have a link?

I am 99 percent sure that is the Coloange <sp?> series engine based. Which is the same as the SHO V6. Only the head on that was built by Yamaha the rest was Ford. If I am right about that then one of the only places you are going to find any real performance parts is Europe. Ford in the US has already discontinued support for that engine. But over in Europe and I think the Aussies as well were very much into these engines.

Brandon,
I would start calling around some of the Busch engine builders that were involved with this engine. I bet some of them have parts sitting around that they are tired of looking at. If you go to the NASCAR website you should be able to drill your way down into seeing the team names and maybe even the engine builders.

I dont mean to kick ya but Why in the World do you want to build an angine that has NO support?
The engine was discontinued. Why? (thats really not a question but something for you to ponder)
Gl on the project though.. sounds fun =)

The motor is not based on the Cologne series engine. It is somewhat loosely based on the 3.8 series V6 used in the Mustangs, Tbirds, etc. None of the stuff is no longer available from Ford. Madspeed you aren't quite correct in saying it has no support. I can buy aftermarket cranks, rods, pistons, valvetrain, gaskets, etc. for this engine all day long. I need help in locating heads and blocks.
