Ok it seems most everyone says the Canton road race pan is the one to get. Do you need to run a special pump, p/u? Does it come with the pan or is it extra? If Canton sells their own, is it a good pump or is there a better one to use with it?

You need to get the correct pump and pickup for your application. I would reccomend getting the whole setup from them and avoid any misunderstandings with the part numbers between other places.
I really like the way mine looks and the design seems really well thought out.
The only thing they dont tell you is to remove the piece of angle on the pickup after you install it. The angle will not allow the pan to go on but once removed it goes right in.
Have fun and make sure to get a one piece silicone gasket to make life easier.

Thanks Jim. So the pan goes for about $325 off their site and the pump and p/u is probably another $60 to $75 + gasket. With shipping I guess I'm looking at about $450 to get it here. Sound about right? That's alot of dough for an oil pan upgrade. Not to mention pulling the plant again.

If I remember right I only paid $265 for the pan at my local Hotrod Shop parts place and around $40 for the pump and $36 for the pickup. Around $350 is about what I paid. I'll look back to make sure,if it's different I'll let you know. I didn't realize I saved as much as I did going through the hassle of getting the wrong pump with the right pickup the first time it arrived because of the wrong part number.
