Just joined, and thought I'd pop in for an intro. !965 Olds jestar 88... My folks bought the car new in '65. I drove it in high school for a while, then anchored it for years. Drug it out 3 years ago, and went through the whole thing. Doubt it's a "real" G-Machine, but mucho fun, nonetheless!

The paint color is BWM Orient Blue... it's a really nice deep blue. It has a hint of purple in it as well, but it's a standard BMW color. I think it was used on 2003-ish 5 series Bimmers.

SICK.

As you can imagine, AirRide didn't have a bag setup sitting on the shelf for a 1965 Olds Jestsar 88. I went with thier "Builder's Kit". I think the tank is a 5 gallon. I got thier top-of-the line compressor, and I think the bags are thier "Ride Pro" series.

Why the stereo head unit in the trunk? Nice car!
I didnt want goof up my dash which is all original, so I mounted all the stereo stuff (CD changer, tuner, amp, subs, etc.) in the trunk behind the panel where the changer and head unit is mounted. I have a wired remote (Kenwood) that is flush mounted in my driver-side sun visor. Flip down the visor, and there it is. Pretty clean way to do it.
Also, my air ride switches are flush mounted on the bottom portion of the lower dash. You'd never find them if you didnt know where they were.

Caddilac air cleaner assy?
Nicely done! how do you like the bags?
Speechless - [Ruined a perfectly good pair of pants - now thoroughly soiled]
EDIT: Good call by 00fxd; GM used similar ones throughout the late 60's vintage, so it may as well be a Cadillac air cleaner on there.

Yeah, the air cleaner is from a Caddy, or so the eBay ad said. They were used on some mid 50's Oldsmobiles as well.

It looks better now than in the picture. I repainted the top portion the same color as the car, and had a friend pinstripe the top in an old skool style.

KILLER RIDE :seizure:
Ohhhhhhh! That car is Killer! I was all over it at Goodguys, Columbus! Sorry if I left any drool... Way to take a less than popular bodystyle and make it look SICK! It looks like a long wheelbase 442. Didn't you make that sidechrome too?
Great car!

Hey Jason... Thanks for the kudos on my Jetstar. Yeah, I wiped all of your drool off. I ran out of Meguirs Detailer, so your slobber came in handy!! I was in Columbus with it in a couple of years ago and picked up a Custom Rodder Magazine Top Ten award... that was pretty cool. And yes, it is a loooong car!
The side trim is factory stainless. Funny though how many people think it's custom.
