Some current pics of the latest progress. Still trying for Detroit Autorama (3-9-07)https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2005/04/willy_nilly-1.gif I think I'm wishful thinking at this point. Still good to have a goal I guess. The oil temp gauge was wrong so I have to wait for the right one, in case you were wondering why there's an empty hole. Next step will be shaving drip rails and cutting down and re-fitting the bumpers. That should pretty much be it for metal work. I'm hoping to have some color on this thing by the end of the month.https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2005/04/thumbsup-1.gif

DO NOT RUSH! Detroit Autorama 07 is right around the corner. It is way to important to get it right, then to finish it by a deadline. With that much detailing to the underside I can only imagine what the top half will look like.

We definetely aren't rushing it, or it would have been done by now.:) It's like the car has it's own agenda at this point. There's really no way to rush it even if I wanted to. Unfortunately things take a certain amount of time to do and I just have to deal with it. All I can do is just keep chippin away and when it's done, it's done. If that's before March 9th I'm in. But I seriously doubt it. Oh well, it's at the fun point anyway, as it starts to look more and more like what I have pictured in my head.:twothumbs

What kind of hood hinges are those? Those are some trick pieces. Though it looks like they still aren't strong enough to hold the hood up, what with the broom there.

They look like DSE.

Ah, yeah, they sure do. And holy cow, they cost as much as the my Harwood 4" cowl induction hood with shipping!!

The mirrors are Vision concepts. The hinges are DSE and they will definitely hold the hood up. That's an original hood and they hold it at any position no problem. I can't remember what we were doing with the wood stick in the picture, oh well. They definitely work great and are very high quality pieces that I would recommend to anyone that was thinking about getting a set.
