After a fun day of cutting and banging, We got it in the weeds and tucking rim. Still not done though. Dont have pics of how she sits right now. We had to do everything twice, to get it to sit perfect for me.

Much to my relief everything fit perfect, and went pretty smoothly. All the measuring and second guessing paid off big time. Thanks to PRRC for the Coy's Their service and pricing cannot be beat! (http://www.paradiseroadrc.com/)

Thanks! now all I have to do is take it all back apart and paint everything underneath. I'll also have to find someone around Sacramento that can fab up some new headers for me They are getting way too close to the ground like they are. I'll have to cut into the rear panel, but it'll look better that way anyway.

just a bit lower and it will look even better (but will you have enough ground clearance?)

Looks good! It always amazes me what the right set of wheels can do for a car.

Hey Tony,

The Coy's look great! I love mine!

I love them. I was SO worried that my car would never have rims with "lip" I was told by every Corvair guy out there that it couldn't be done without extensive modification. Turns out it was very simple and standard after all. 17x8s with 4.5 inches of backspace with 205/40 zr 17s (I wish I'da went wider.) No mods have been done, and nothing rubs. After staring at it a bit, I've decided that later I'll step up to a slightly bigger rear. possibly a 45. Rides a lot better now with the new poly bushings and new shocks.

(forgive the blurry area, my kid touched the lens without me knowing.)

Did the car settle alittle? It looks KILLER right now... Great job guys! I love to see something besides the usual cars being modified. Absolutely beautiful.

nope. It has been lowered twice. In the first pic it wasn't low enough. So we chopped a 1/2 coil off the rear and a 1/4 on the front. Also, the rear's camber was off a bunch in the first set of photos, and has been corrected in the last ones.

Seeing like it is today was like a realization of a dream. I've been planning for so long to see it, I can't believe it's real.

Now comes the fun stuff. We're working on the spoilers, the disk brakes and the interior. 7 months to go till hot august nights.

For BOTH cars.

Tony, Looking good. I will send you out a couple t-shirts. We are having them made up with the design Ben Hermance did for us.

I want an update on when you figure out disc brakes. I'm trying to figure out how to get them on my 65 to. I don't want to spend $1200 on a setup that isn't that big.

After a little snooping on ebay, I found this company. I'm emailing him to find out what calipers and such we're supposed to use on the corvair. Hopefully it's something a Wilwood caliper will fit.

I'd order from the website to save the $14 shipping.

***Updated, added the response I got back on what parts to use.***

I was planning on going that route myself, brrymnvette Baer makes a setup for those calipers and rotors so one could easily upgrade.

Not too shabby. some of the hardcore autocrossing guys at corvaircenter.com use that setup.

Tony,
Are those chrome or polished?
V/R,

They are chrome. I didn't want the hassle of polishing all the time.
