Need help determining fuel filter fitting size.

I need to replace the fuel line on an 86 Monte. First thought was to replace it with repro Buick Grand National fuel line. It has the provision for the fuel filter & since the Monte now is fuel injected I figured it would work perfectly. Well the fuel feed line is $100 plus $40 to ship it. That is crazy. So I was going to make my own, but I can't find anyone to make the flared O ringed fitting needed for the filter. I had a brain fart & thought about a couple fittings I had for a TPI swap I did a while back. Turns out the AN to O ring fitting for the TPI fuel lines screws into the filter, & is a -6 AN on the other end. BUT, (always a but isn't there?), I don't think the O ringed end is the proper size. Feels like the O ring goes in too far into the filter.

Anyone know what size & name is for this O ring fitting? Are they called Saginaw fittings?

Scot, If your filter is a standard GM filter with a spring loaded clip.Street & Performance makes a filter and hose you should be able to use for a FI conversion.

I used factory TPI rubber engine lines and bout the section, with male ends on them from the parts store. I used a combination of those ends with brass compression and flare fittings and a roll of aluminum tubing. No leaks yet.

I mounted (actually it's just kinda hanging there) the fuel filter in the rear.

I am trying to stay away from a bunch of fittings to piece it together. I can buy 30" pieces of fuel line with the proper flared fitting at the end for the fuel filter, but then I have to use a compression fitting to connect it to the main line. I would rather not do this.

The o-ring style fitting are called Saginaw fitting, I believe. I know Earls makes some. Other companies do too I bet.

Scott, I only had to use four brass fittings;
two at the front (fuel and return),
one for the rear (for the aluminum tubing; I used stock vapor line for return)
one in the middle of the aluminum tubing (it was easier to install in two pieces).

I thought about doing it the way you're going (with AN stuff), but didnt want to drop the cash on it.
