I have a true 1965 396/425 that is the old school thick casting.
It has been punched to 4.25 "427".
Anyone know if it is safe to take it out another .10-.20
or should I go ahead and sleeve it now.
Thanks
Scott

Your obviously not the guy I'm looking for.
The Old 65 & early 66 396 blocks were the first BB motors.
These were the same casting molds that became the 427 in 66.
Thus the story goes that there is plenty of material there to take
it out another .10- .30 with out problem.
I'm looking for some one that's in the know to confirm this ?
A old school 396 guy ...
Thanks
