502 hood clearance???

I am planning to put a 502 in my 66 Chevelle. I have a new air gap intake, but I'm concerned about the stock flat hood. Anyone have any imput. I'm sure I will have to put a low profile cleaner. Thanks in advance. Cory

i have worked on a few 66 67 chevelles and there is no hood clearance on any good high rise intakes with the stock flat hoods .

I have a 67 chevelle with a 454 and a air gap, and all I had to do was use a drop base air cleaner. 14"x3" I have a SS hood also. Hope this was a little help.
