just stumbled onto this site. don't even remember what i typed into google.lol. looking around a bit and it looks like a cool site... i have seen a couple guys i know from a couple other mopar sites (gmachinedart and peterr).

a little about me.. my mane is joe. i'm from the berlin nj area. i have a 71 dodge dart that up until now has been more of a straight line car... it has an eddy headded 360 and runs decent.. best it has gone is a 12.27 at 108 mph. as much fun as i have with it at the drag strip i never enjoyed driving long distances too much because of the 3.91 gears and to be honest it really didn't handle very well... i've been saying for a while that i wanted to make the car more driveable. well this past june my girlfriend bought me a RMS front suspension system for me.. it converts the torsion bar/steering box front end over to a rack and pinion/coil over shock set up... man what a difference. i still havent't upgraded the rims and tires yet. still running a 15" rear tire and skinnies up front but man does it handle alot and i mean alot better then it did.. can't wait to put some real rims and tires on the car and see how it handles....

next on my list now is the rear suspension.. it still has the 100,000 mile slant six springs out back and crappy shocks... still haven't decided what way i want to go with it but hopefully will have something back there for the spring... then i can order rims and tires. most likely go with the mustang torque thrust wheels. i know they will fit up front but still have to do some measuring for the rear.. plus summit has them new for $120 each..

looking forward to getting new ideas from you guys. i still have tons of stuiff to learn. this is a new world for me.

guess i'll see you guys on the board....

joe....

here is the story/history of my dart. http://www.abodyjoe.com/71dartpage/71dartpage.htm

here are a few pictures of my car... don't laugh too hard.. yes it needs rust repair but i want to get it running/driving the way i want before i address that...

Welcome aboard from a fellow Jersey member. I'm up in the Northeast corner though, near NYC. All the NJ guys should try to get together at the Spring Englishtown show or some event in '07. Anyway, looks like a great project you have there, enjoy it and drive it!

Welcome to the site Joe!
Wow--your girl really hooked you up, that front setup is sweet! Glad to hear you're enjoying your ride more because of it. You're going to really have fun when you get the rest of the suspension up to snuff.
Your car looks good, keep up the good work!

Does your girlfriend have a sister? You are one lucky SOB!:bananna2: I would look at Lateral Dynamics 3 link for the rear end. I've heard nothing but glowing reviews of their product! Welcome to the Site!

i put one of those kits in tony's jeep J-4000 back then and man was it a nice set up.

i'll have to stop in and see what its like now compared to what it was.. is it at the same building as it was.. on the right if i was coming from the BHP??
